I'm not familiar with Robichaux, but FWIW, David Dayen made the same point about late-night TV (and legacy TV generally).

In which I finally put an absurd WSJ graphic from 12 years ago to good use. 2026 ACA window shopping is LIVE in 5 states. Here's 4 real-world examples of how ugly it could get.

They're flat-out lying, yes, but she didn't answer his question, which was about OBBBA stripping eligibility from certain categories of *lawfully present* noncitizens, whom Republicans smear as "illegals."

πŸ“£ UPDATED: Two new polls confirm: Out of the gate, Americans STRONGLY support extending the #ACA tax credits.

🚨 Meanwhile, 58% of enrollees barely knew about the looming danger as of a week ago.

*Way* worse than forecast: How did KFF's estimate of pending ACA premium increases rise from 75% to 114%? Ravages of time -- and ravages of Trump's CMS

Keep in mind: much of the difference between KFF's initial estimate of an average premium increase for ACA enrollees of 75% and the update to 114% is b/c Trump's CMS deliberately choose to cut subsidies even further by changing inflation calculation.

Declining American Democracy: Trump is a Symptom, Not the Cause The modern GOP is inherently authoritarian

We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.

The updated estimate (114% avg premium increase) is based on actual 2026 conditions -- the subsidy schedule published by the IRS, and the rate requests filed by insurers.

02.10.2025 21:37 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

p.s. It's now a 114% increase (on average, for 22 million subsidized enrollees)

(That year-old prior KFF estimate is going to be hard to wash out.)

Are high auto re-enrollment rates in the ACA's State-based marketplaces a problem? Take II More frequent auto re-enrollment in SBMs appears to be at least partly a result of better information and lower benchmark volatility in the SBMs than in HealthCare.gov states

That's why auto-reenrollment was historically more prevalent in SBMs and for the most part worked out okay there.
xpostfactoid.substack.com/p/are-high-a...

OTOH, a surge in auto-reenrollment in the SBM in 2025 was prob something of a red flag.

Conversely, insurers some state exchanges may already (or soon) be giving out accurate information, with net-of-subsidy premiums based on the benchmark and adjusted for any income updates enrollees have provided.

In past years, Sheron Sidbury told me that Maryland does this by Oct. 1.

RFK's HHS has, however, moved to keep the undocumented out of Federally Qualified Health Centers, which by statute and mission are not allowed to check the immigration status of those who seek treatment.

The lying fascists now falsely claiming Dems want to give coverage to the undocumented viciously stripped Obamacare eligibility from lawfully present immigrants subject to 5-year bar for Medicaid eligibility (~300k) AND from almost all lawfully present who aren't green card holders (1 million-plus)

Confirmed.

The plans are *slightly* different because carriers make tweaks from year to year, but are virtually identical.

This is useful to be as I didn't think any of the state-based ACA exchanges had launched 2026 window shipping yet, nor did I know Georgia's 2026 rates had been finalized.
