I just want any of these people to sit and think about the constant assault on children of color, especially Black children, about their bodies

That their skin/hair/eyes are never going to be What Is Beautiful

That these clothing ads are served to children who are developing a sense of self

People need to understand in this controversy that at this point, intention doesn't matter. People can accidentally send racist, eugenics messages. No matter if it was meant for that purpose, that is what it is doing. That's what is important. Much like the Sony Black/white ads from many years ago.

What is the ad’s theory about what Sydney Sweeney’s “genetic advantage” is? Is it comparable to a swimmer with an extremely long torso? Or is it just being white, blonde, and blue-eyed? Who else thought that was a genetic advantage

These are not giant intellectual leaps

The social pressure around this is going to be enormous. “Don’t fight with people who are on your side” is gonna be the message about people who are engaging in racist and (trans)misogynist flights of fancy

The premise will be “but it’s like, not the bad kind”

That falls under “trans positive feminism”

I mean really what we are seeing is people feeling comfortable revealing in various ways that they agree with the authoritarian white supremacists on at least one thing: 2020 anti-racism went too far and so did trans positive feminism
