How long will the corpse of America shuffle around before people realize it’s dead and gone already?

That’s the nagging question I wake to, think about and fall asleep thinking about every damned day.

I’m not Ben, I’m not a scholar and my rec is not a book, but Mike Heiser (rip) went through a whole series on his podcast about Melchizedek you might find interesting.

It’s all just a confidence game. Say your opinions confidently and people think you’ve cracked the code.

Watching the masters of the universe expose themselves as utter dipshits has really put a pause on my own personal battles with imposter syndrome.

That’s true too…as long as you know which norms are rooted in maintaining status quo and which were designed to disrupt it and created a more equitable arrangement.

I don’t disagree completely. I have this pull and push internally often. Where is the line where you’ve crossed over into pure cynical power-seeking and does it corrupt the soul?

I spent 14 years in political consulting and watched principle bludgeoned on the stones of pragmatism over and over.

Broad-brushing obviously, but if a people can be collectively denigrated, then they can be collectively praised too.

Just a morning thought: The most despised, disrespected, misunderstood group in America is black women.

And, in my life, I’ve experienced them as the most kind, forgiving, loving people in America.

Feel like one political party kidnapping an opponent should be bigger news

If the goal is power for a political party called the Democratic Party that can shift principles for mere political gain, then things are exactly as I always describe; we need a left wing party for the first time in our history.

It’s not the fault of collective bargaining as a noble idea that the members of the union have been brainwashed. It’ll sort itself out by the GOP destroying their jobs and their unions.

Ours people have to learn the hard way.

It’s because there are still some principles that democrats won’t betray.

And that’s a good thing but the white electorate is selfish and hate filled. Can’t compete with phobias.

I never started and I miss it too.

It’s happened so often throughout history that I’m surprised that we’re surprised….yet, still surprising.

I might prefer death to no cheese.

Mental stagnation and inaction due to repeated national traumas, that’s the 21st century.

UPDATE: A spokesperson for the NPS told me that the agency and the DOJ are pursuing administrative action against several Yosemite employees and possible criminal charges against several park visitors over displays on El Capitan since 2024.

Pretty soon, owning and operating a small, privately-owned library that is available to the public will be a service more important than most all others.

I own appx. 1,000 physical books through inheritance and my own collecting for 30 years. Thinking about cataloging all of them.
