Conspicuous plot hole I have no good explanation for, it's not about a character decision, it's like forty missing minutes of in-universe time. But it wouldve been worse if I'd written around it, or called attention to it.

In Chap 3 of BAD DREAM there's a scene in which the kids are supposed to be giving presentations to the class, but only one kid, the protagonist, actually goes before the bell rings. I needed him to go first, and I needed him to go last, too. I have mechanics I can use to fudge the time, but didn’t.

He's still very good at statistics! That never changed. And I get the impulse of "I'm good with data so I'm extra qualified to explain the causes of voting behavior" but I don’t personally think he actually understands that side of things at all.

Comes up a lot in plot hole discourse. I think a lot of writers are aware of the plot holes in their work, but include them anyways because a) the themes are better expressed in the version of the story that includes the hole b) the line of dialogue covering it up is boring.
