Enlisted my partner to tally kids as they came and we had around 70! I gave out chips, Rice Krispies, and candy, and bags to kids who didn’t have one. Ran out of treats by 7:30! Definitely did not stock as well this year but I guessed we got 50 kids so now I know πŸŽƒπŸ‘»

Amazon is helping fund a $300 million build of a ballroom for the White House.

Independent bookstores are donating to food banks and organizations that help with food insecurity.

They are not the same.

Like he knew I wouldn't ever say "I saw a bird today" because I'd say what bird it was or I'd say something about it lol and idk why I asked "is it real?" it was also not something he usually would say! Usually he tells me about the turkeys or birds he sees on his bike rides lol. It was a real cat πŸ˜†

I knew this wouldn't work with my partner because we literally talk about birds every day but I did it anyway and said "I saw a bird today" and he replied "Was it dead?" πŸ˜‚ and then the next day he did it to me and said "I saw a cat today" and I said "Was it real? πŸ˜‚

This "bird challenge" is going around that has women saying "I saw a bird today" to their male partners to see if they'll engage in conversation. A little depressing, but it is based on the idea that you should respond to your partners "bids" for engagement, etc anyway,

And they did this when they should have been spending money on air filtration.

I think a big part of the upset is always also having to be reminded yet again that it shouldn’t be this hard and we shouldn’t have to advocate, it shouldn’t still be such an uphill battle 😩

Basically every time we see family it’s just such a huge risk and we have to just hope our masking alone is enough. But it’s so exhausting worrying. Masking isn’t perfect or foolproof, especially when it’s just us and no one else we’re around 😩

We mostly did things outside and at home I tried to have doors and windows open until it got cold then air purifiers but man it’s exhausting staying this vigilant when just trying to see family is such a huge risk cuz no one fucking masks

My partner’s parents were with us for a week and don’t mask, they just texted us they’re sick 😩 they left last Wednesday an said they started feeling sick on the way home, so by now I think we’re out of the woods but as usual I’m mad at myself for not advocating for ourselves and making them mask πŸ˜”

People be having long COVID. Hordes of people. I notice in my professional & personal life, the brain fog & the toll it's taken on people's bodies, they're not admitting why they've never been at their best since that last of many COVID infections.
