The map has seven keys, one for each of the seven books in C.S. Lewis's Narinia series. The main movements of characters and action in each book are traced by colored lines, like a subway map. Locations in each book are marked out as stops in the lines. There is a drawing of a lion above the title of the map, and in the lower right corner there is a compass rose. Public transport isn't just for Middle Earth. Narnia's getting in on the act!
I've drawn a subway map covering all 7 books of The Chronicles of Narnia. Follow the plots lines, but don't touch the third rail! #Narnia #Maps #Subway

In trail crew world we have a thing called a ramen bomb - where you make a packet of ramen with instant mashed potatoes after a really long day.
So now I'm just picturing a grilled cheese sandwich dipped in garlic mashed potatoes.
Probably only tastes good in the woods but... π€·πΌ

11.11.2025 18:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I recognized this road straight away, having only driven it once in the winter of 2022. Truly stunning in any season. When I was there it was completely covered in ice and the tree branches looked like they'd been hung with crystals.

Huh. Well now I feel like an idiot. I drove that road on an ice-covered winter day and what stood out to me was how you could see so far down on either side of the hill through the bare trees. It did not occur to me until just now that those trees would have leaves on them in season π

Apropos of nothing, I really like this iconography, even if it's a bit novel. Usually you see a saint facing you and blessing you.
I like this "communion of saints" approach where they're facing the same way you are and doing the same thing you are... and where you don't know all of them yet
A long haired calico cat with green eyes sits on the foot of a bed. She is propped up almost like a human in a chair with her hind paws and tail stretched out in front. The effect is slightly undignified, and also has the air of a boudoir photo shoot.
A hand holds a small flower press about the size of a smartphone. The paper for the flower press is text from a book and there are bright pink flowers with rumpled petals. In the background is a variety of green foliage and a red backpacking pack.
Here is a picture of my non-native cat, and some salmon berry flowers that I pressed on a back country trip building hiking trails

fun fact: Halloween in the north of England used to be known as nut-crack night.
people would mark nuts with the names of lovers and place them around a fire.
nuts that sizzled, spat or jumped indicated romantic incompatibility. nuts that burned together suggested peaceful, happy partnerships.
