One lesson: certainty without any evidence is dangerous.

Since long hair was in style, shaven women took to wearing turbans. Some copied that fashion statement as a way to show solidarity, getting jeers any time they were in public. It got awkward when emaciated, shaven women from the camps showed up a few weeks later and were mistaken for collaborators.

Some of the dark: after the liberation, any French woman suspected of fraternizing with the enemy had her hair shorn and was paraded thru the streets. Although plenty of men slept with German office workers, there are no reports of men being shamed thus. The prostitutes were also exempt, of course.

There are lessons to learn here - and many are very dark. An interesting detail in letters sent back home by the German troops- they were completely unnerved by how some Parisians gave them the silent treatment and acted as if they didn't exist. It drove them mad.

FYI: immigrants are 1/2 as likely to commit crimes as American citizens. They strengthen our economy, (a lesson we will soon learn the hard way.) Detention centers all over the USA function like Gitmo: For the purpose of denying 14A protections, detainees are deemed to have 'not entered' America.
