Hard to put into words how fed up, disgusted, and horrified I am.

That's logical. What is fucking annoying is people commenting "Texas = Taliban" when we could better spend our time coming together to undo the horrible shit we're going through instead of just labeling entire states full of people who care as "the Taliban."

Yep. And it won't be confined to Texas, Tenessee, OK, etc if the Christian Nationalists keep getting their way. So spare me the "I'll never set foot in Texas" crap unless you're willing to materially help those of us who live and work here get out.

I know stuff that is beyond the pale is happening every day, but we cannot become numb to how utterly wrong this is. I was thinking yesterday, how many impeachable offenses are we up to?

They just tear-gassed us. They tried to run us over in a van holding a peaceful protester. They shot us with pepper balls. They dragged another protester into the facility.

Only a terrible, inept leader would be guilty of so much projection, is what I think, but what do I know. I'm just an "evil" Texas resident who is devastated by the recent flood and the loss of life.

I know, I know. We are terfible at getting out and voting, but I certainly do vote in every election, state, national, and local, and encourage everyone to do the same. There is so much apathy here it is seriously painful.

I can't continue to live in this state. Yeah, sure, let's just add EVEN MORE voter suppression to the already-terrible gerrymandering and voter suppression here.

The replies did not meet the vibe check. Some of y'all are cruel and heartless. Signed, an angry Texas teacher who actively votes for progressive candidates, teaches critical thinking skills, and is actively protesting and trying to help change things here.

Here, there's an added layer of bullshit "tradition," as in, "our family has never voted Democrat so just can't either." And people grow up believing the lies and the propaganda, don't travel enough to get un-brainwashed, and the cycle repeats.

It's seriously so hard fighting this brainwashing in places like here in Texas. I hate how the right-wing has co-opted and changed the meanings of real words to fit their divisive ends.

Horrible, criminal treatment. I have been wondering about Abrego Garcia's treatment since he was wrongfully sent to CECOT, and the treatment of the other prisoners the U.S. sent there. This confirms that it was awful and inhumane.

No. Time to drop out and help raise funds for candidates who care about Texans and will actually run a winning campaign.

And what tf did he do with the money we sent him last time around? Didn't really campaign much, didn't connect with Black and Latino voters, and threw the trans community under the bus. Hell no.

That was an instant STOP from me. Texas really sucks but we need real leadership, not milquetoast, centrist pandering and unwinnable campaigns.
