Broadly, I *like* how they handle Dawn. (Although I agree she could have used more ‘world’ grounding.)

I’d say words and actions are the measure of a person - and specifically, contextual words. (Ie, it’s better to bitch *about* someone than *at* someone.)

As someone who gets really horrible intrusive thoughts, I’ve have to know what goes on inside my head doesn’t define what I am in the world.

The problem with Spike is that they had to undermine all his smouldering charm with moments of humour so that The Girlies (gender neutral) didn’t completely lose their minds with lust.

Unfortunately, this only served to make him Scrungly. Which Made It Worse.
