“Protecting”. Not that laws or the Constitution even matter anymore, but the Supreme Court has definitively stated that police are not obligation to protect anyone. That is not their job, and you know it. Tell the truth, their role is to protect private property and politically suppress the poor.

The Republicans are the iron fist of empire, the Democrats are the velvet glove. One advances the interests of the ruling class, the other legitimizes it. Neither has any material interest whatsoever in empowering the working masses.

The Democratic Party and the Republican Party have had a power sharing agreement for generations, they have bipartisan alignment on matters of empire, and as institutions are merely corporate fronts for competing factions of the ruling class.

This doesn’t make any sense. What’s the difference between foreign countries owning some of this country and stateless multinational corporations owning all of this country and “our” government? Do you genuinely believe the shareholders of Disney have patriotic loyalty for the US?

“National security”. Be honest, who is a greater threat to your safety, China or our own government?

Who cares? Am I supposed to be more concerned about China than my own government? I hope they get every last kilobyte, I wish them nothing but the best.

If you’re thinking Democrats are capable of doing anything but rolling over then you’ll be sorely disappointed.

I hope it lasts indefinitely. Let it collapse, let the truth of the empire be laid bare for all to see.

A perfect example of what being rich does to your brain.

We’re not discussing anything. We are in a social media bubble where we project ourselves onto others and interact with reflections of our own egos. This isn’t real life, this is a realm of pseudo-experience whose only purpose is to drive “engagement” and deliver ads. Nothing we do here matters.

Regardless of which corporate front holds power I will always be worse off this year than I was last year, is rent increases and inflation always increase at rates greater than wage increases. Neither party is willing to address this, as they serve the interests of their corporate owners.

Policy is determined by technocrats in the largest corporations, in the major parties, and in the state. Policy is not determined by elections, elections are determined by the market and retroactively justified through the ritual practice of elections that serves to passify rather than empower.

I don’t care about elections. I’m a poor, propertyless wage laborer and always will be. Regardless of the corporate front that holds power I will always be worse off next year than I was last year. We do not have a democracy, we have a corporate oligarchy.

Cops objectively do not have to “protect” anybody, as decreed by the highest court in the land. That is an objective fact that you don’t get to disagree with. As an institution, as an organ of state power, their social role is protecting the rich from the leveling instincts of the poor. That’s it.

Does that have anything to do with the correctness of the claim? No, it does not. Either contribute something productive or shut up and piss off.

That just adds more to the bouquet of flavors.

Their job is not to govern. That should be obvious. And shaming them on the internet won’t work.

Y’all need to get it in your head that these people are not good faith actors and have no interest in actually doing anything. Pardon my language, but fuck the “deal”. Whatever “deal” they might reach will be disregarded at the earliest convenience, evidenced by their complete disregard for the law.

Their indiscriminate disregard for the law and the regular killing of unarmed people didn’t do that already?

They are objectively not obligated to “keep us safe”. Cops don’t keep us safe, they show up after an incident and are highly likely to escalate a situation to further violence. I’m very disappointed in you for this obvious copaganda, it’s a shame they got to you.

For real. Remove participation from the existing government, it is not legitimate and should not be considered such. Your state might be different, but as far as the fed goes they’re an occupying power.

And Democrats fall for it every time and have no counter to it.

They should be though.

Every last one of them are traitors.

Yeah, more stupid laws should work. Never-mind the underlying conditions, ignoring them while empowering a carceral state that traffics in people and aids in genocide is surely the correct solution to a non-problem.

The only reason to support the existing regime, beyond whichever corporate front is in power, is to maintain one’s relative social position and hedonic conveniences. Those of us in poverty and subject to wage labor should have no loyalty in or concern for this corrupt regime that only harms us.

Their job is to dismantle the government and erode faith in institutions. This government is a corrupt shit-hole and beyond saving, so let them while organizing and building parallel institutions that serve material needs outside of and in opposition to the existing regime of the political economy.
