The story of LGBT rights is a story of advances followed by setbacks followed by media with no skin in the game saying, "It's because you were too loud/asked for too much/moved too fast/got too big for your britches/didn't make your case." That never changes--but happily it's never the last word.

Comics haven't gotten more expensive. Adjusted for inflation, comics with similar paper stock were pricier in the 1980s, when US comics were flourishing.

They *seem* more expensive due to wage suppression.

We are so quick to wish for and even craft redemption narratives for fascist men to hand them the benefit of the doubt while erasing their culpability in violence. We talk about how tragic it was that Syril didn’t get a chance at redemption before his death because he was just now seeing how evil the empire was because it was targetting people he cared about—while Cinta, who fought the empire her entire life, is treated as an afterthought. No one seems to question the fact that she wasn’t given more narrative focus, or a real emotional arc, before her death - nor make endless discourse over what could have been if she’d be given more time on teh show. Syril gets framed as a wasted opportunity. Cinta’s death gets treated like an inevitability. Why is only one of their stories seen as tragedy by how fast it was cut down?
