From 2001 to 2015, the blue line descends slightly from just over 90% to 89% of Ds saying they did not think vaccines were more dangerous than the diseases they were meant to prevent, before rising back just above 90% by 2019. The Republican answer to the same question rose slightly from about 90% in 2001 to just above 90 in 2015, before dipping to around 85% viewing vaccines as “not as dangerous as the disease” in 2019.

Anti-vaxx views were a lefty fringe obsession long before it got trendy on the right during Covid. Scary though how much and how quickly it seems to have spread.

This is probably not the centrist wing. Anti-vaxx was a far-left thing before it got trendy on the right. The anti-vaxxers I know (Covid and otherwise) are all far-left.
