“The Lolita Express Lockdown” is a catchphrase that should be circulated to, and echoed from, every blue-leaning and anti-Trump corner.

Sounds like a job for the Satanists.

Graph tracks perceptions of the safety of vaccines by political party from 2001 to 2019. Democrats views are tracked by a blue line; Republicans by a red line. From 2001 to 2015, the blue line descends slightly from just over 90% to 89% of Ds saying they did not think vaccines were more dangerous than the diseases they were meant to prevent, before rising back just above 90% by 2019. The Republican answer to the same question rose slightly from about 90% in 2001 to just above 90 in 2015, before dipping to around 85% viewing vaccines as “not as dangerous as the disease” in 2019.

Looks like anti-vaxx sentiment was more common than I realized on the right, but no, it wasn’t concentrated on the right. It’s remained pretty steady on the fringe left over the past 20+ years. preprints.apsanet.org/engage/api-g...

Anti-vaxx views were a lefty fringe obsession long before it got trendy on the right during Covid. Scary though how much and how quickly it seems to have spread.

This is probably not the centrist wing. Anti-vaxx was a far-left thing before it got trendy on the right. The anti-vaxxers I know (Covid and otherwise) are all far-left.

Everyone who voted for Crawford should try to snap those tickets up. Then go and boo him, maybe win some money intended for illegal bribes.

Oh, sorry Elise, nine years of selling your soul piece by piece leads to this. Who could have thunk it?

Maybe they’re afraid there might be an “accident” if his head isn’t shielded — similar to why Elon drapes his toddler over his head at press appearances.

The plan is for the oligarchs to steal more of our money. That’s it. That’s the plan. It’s why they don’t want to articulate it.

"You might have to suffer a bit" is the MAGA version of "Let them eat cake."

When a politician tells you it's your duty to sacrifice for THEIR principles, it's time to start building guillotines.

I’ll generously call voters like this “naive”.

When I had a boss about 20 years ago who pulled this crap I always made sure to line-item time spent “tracking time,” filing reports, and meeting with our union.

What these nihilistic vandals are doing to dismantle science & medicine—generations of expertise & public service & life improving benefits—is cultural revolution level national self harm. No foreign foe could inflict such brutal damage & senseless suffering on US so fast & effectively & unresisted.

How much Elon Musk makes from the government a day: $8 million.

How much a senior on Social Security gets a day: $65

Guess which budget Musk and Trump want to cut?

This is like a bank robber getting to fire the cops and disable the alarms just before he strolls into the bank lobby.

What happens when the “disruptors” in charge convince Americans that the American Dream and mythos were for suckers? Eventually, that aspirational spirit fades away. How tasty will the rich start to look then?

I don’t suppose anyone asked the follow up, “What of value are individual tax payers getting out of SpaceX?”

Interesting. I seem to remember people voting for him because they didn’t like our money being spent overseas, especially while Americans were struggling to buy eggs.

From isolationism to imperialism in eight short years. How his followers don’t all have whiplash I’ll never know.

People with power need to start calling this out as it’s happening—as soon as his saber rattling starts. The trade war scam has been one of Trump Land’s Greatest Snatch-and-Grabs since 2016.

Nah, he did it during his first term, too. Easy money, if you have the power to pull it off.

Maybe the only bright side of these past few months is seeing other countries learn from our example and start to fortify themselves against tyranny.

Well, and to give his cronies time to make a few bucks off the turbulent market. He did this in his first term but like so much else, was never himself held accountable.

I don’t play the markets but, yeah, maybe I should start. Although I think each time he does it the dip gets a little shallower. I should have gotten in in 2017.

It’s one of his favorite grifts—look “tough” enough to get the markets to move while his cronies short-sell, then claim victory even when his negotiations don’t net anything. His followers will never know they’ve been had and his scam makes bank. Rinse. Repeat.

I think only the people who are always fooled were fooled, but the markets had to react in case he was just crazy enough to do it, giving his cronies an opportunity to make some money. One of his favorite grifts from his first term.

Scary message from the transportation chief admitting his org can’t walk and chew gum at the same time. I remember just a few short weeks ago when the Dept could do respect our workforce and keep travel safe—now it does neither.
