Upon learning I was on annual leave I genuinely couldn't remember why I specifically requested this week off. Four books purloined from an internally-communal bookcase: QUANTUM CREATIVITY by Amit Goswami, PASSION PLAY by Sean Stewart, SAINT GERMAIN ON ALCHEMY: FORMULAS FOR SELF-TRANSFORMATION, and MOST HARMLESS by Douglas Adams

After the movie Tues, I did #thriftfu #litotimancy @ Housing Works. For a ~$55 tithe I got 4 books, a toy, a chain, a tiny canvas print & a wood sculpture of Garuda, Vishnu's mount.

If that wasn't enough, I also nabbed 4 books out of the locker room free library & a NAKED GUN poster at the theater.

Just the other day I'd had the thought that the Trump "movement" (not unlike that of bowels) was the equivalent of grabbing the mic at an otherwise serious public event just to yell, "BABABOOEY BABABOOEY HOWARD STERN'S PENIS"

I guess the movement wants a monopoly on pointless displays of obscenity.

I may say something mildly controversial: SUPERMAN was great. Any complaints I have are minor quibbles: it was the movie it needed to be right at this moment.

FANTASTIC FOUR is a *masterpiece *. Exciting, funny, hopeful, emotional, w/just enough fan svc w/o alienating a new audience. Don't miss it.

I suppose there might exist a sillier creature than me, but right now I can't think of one:

I just hit 17 years at my job, which means I can take early retirement in 3 more at age 52. While the job is taxing on many levels, I nevertheless derive a sense of purpose, accomplishment & honor from it that neither my employers nor our market can dampen: my crazy is too feral to be tied down.

Why do I never hear bungee jumping referenced anymore? As a species did we collectively decide to memory hole that pursuit as an evolutionary dead end? Or has the urge to touch the void metastasized into base jumping from the edge of space and raw-dogging redeye flights? Can I blame Bam Margera?

Also, pretty much all his characters are guileless: there is zero filter b/t inside & outside thoughts. All attempts to posture as anything but what they are get immediately dispatched, usually by the same persona, if not directly then by directly finding whatever completely exposes them.

2+ weeks on from having my 1st non-wisdom tooth yanked, a couple observations:

* My diction appears to have improved, possibly b/c I needn't correct for the mass or subtle discomfort; and

* a tiny, needle-sharp shard of bone is protruding from where the tooth was, sporadically stinging my tongue.

Why was Michael Palin on the YES Network discussing Yankees player trades? Was one of them Simon Fimbimlimbim-OléOlé-YeBiscuitBarrel-Smith?

I'm not *recommending* them, except as artifacts of weaponized petulance: they're otherwise unwatchable.

I was bored by if not hostile to the idea of a NAKED GUN w/o Leslie Nielsen: it smacks of the Steve Martin Pink Panther movies. But to learn Neeson & Anderson are a couple piques my curiosity.
