A brief response to @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social talking about the Supreme Court ruling regarding trans people (and, as is always necessary nowadays, an endorsement of @zackpolanski.bsky.social and the Green Party).

Already seeing people claiming Cat Burns was “exploiting” her neurodiversity at the #CelebrityTraitors round table, but, honestly, I find just watching all of the social interaction exhausting enough to need a nap.

I’m assuming the King has gone on a visit to the Vatican because he needs to find a new place for Prince Andrew to live that’s more accepting of his lifestyle choices.

Very excited for Paddy McGuinness to inevitably take over hosting Strictly Come Dancing, and be the harbinger of doom for a third long-running BBC franchise.

If it were the Zarah show, I don’t think she’d have allowed it to become so infested with transphobes at the top so quickly and so easily. She’s the public face of the party, but she doesn’t seem to have much in the way of control.

Jeremy Corbyn vanity project. I respect Zarah, but if she were a serious politician, she’d have joined the Greens weeks ago.

To be clear: Graham Linehan was inciting violence. That is a crime. This was not a non-crime hate incident.

The Metropolitan Police says it will no longer investigate non-crime hate incidents to allow officers to "focus on matters that meet the threshold for criminal investigations". The announcement came as the Met confirmed it was dropping a probe into Father Ted creator Graham Linehan after he was arrested at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of inciting violence in posts on X. "This decision means that no charges will be brought against Graham Linehan in relation to this allegation," a detective wrote in an email to the comic on Monday.

Interesting that the Metropolitan Police appear to have decided, based on the Graham Linehan case, that inciting violence is no longer a crime, despite no change in the law happening since he was arrested. Insane the level the British state will go to protect transphobes.

JK Rowling gets a lot of well-deserved criticism, but I really don’t think she gets enough for the fact it’s canonical in Harry Potter that 7 is “the most powerfully magical number”.

Also, goes without saying, but @zackpolanski.bsky.social is so fucking good at this. Probably the best communicator we’ve seen as the leader of a left-wing party in decades.

Obviously a slip of the tongue, but I think “she champions the erosion of women’s rights” might be the first honest thing a supporter of JK Rowling has ever said about her.

reading about this riyadh comedy festival thing. genuinely astonished that comedians, *stand up comedians*, chose a fck load of money over doing the right thing. this isn't the behaviour i have come to expect from the comedy world, a notoriously upstanding and moral industry.
