14.06.2025 02:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0An asian man with a yellow shirt, tan skin and short black hair occupies the left hand side of the illustration. On the left, we see a zoom in on his eye, where we can appreciate the swelling of the eyelid and the formation of a stye on his right eye. Bellow the eye callout, we can see a cross-sectional diagram of the skin, which reveals that a skin follicle has been clogged by excess gland secretions and staph bacteria.
A stye forms when the normally benign Staph bacteria on the skin infect the eyelid.
It's interesting when a normally benign bacteria or organism becomes pathogenic under the right circumstances. So often, in #medicine, does everything depend on the context! And the dosage makes the poison! #SciArt

Individual endothelial cells in the capillary can be seen, and along the midsection there are gaps through which blood plasma and erythrocytes are able to escape.

Knowledge seekers from around the world only serve to make each of us all the more rich: we all have so much to learn, and so much to give! #University is the place to cultivate this exchange.
In the bottom right hand corner, a boy with brown skin and short, curly black hair can be seen staring at a wart on his hand with awe and curiosity. In the background, we see the wart in greater detail on the palm of his hand, as well as in cross section.
Verruca are small growths found on the skin that are caused by some strains of Human Pathaloma Virus (HPV).
In this #illustration, I focus on pushing the expression of the character, as well with the dynamism of the composition

Artwork by Aibou Tanaka, circa. 1990. Scene of a herd of Plateosaurus wandering through and foraging on the foliage of a Triassic desert. The plateosaurs are colored dark ocean blue on top and sandy yellow at their bottom half. A brownish red Procompsognathus (foreground, lower right) runs past, chasing after a primitive frog.
Artwork by Aibou Tanaka, circa. 1990. Scene of a Stegosaurus defending itself against an attacking Ceratosaurus in the middle of a dusty, sparsely vegetated Jurassic plain. The Stegosaurus in the foreground and background are colored grayish brown with dark green spots and splotches, and rust red back plates. Meanwhile, the Ceratosaurus is turquoise with a florescent yellow underbelly. Swinging itβs spiked tail or thagomizer to the left sideways, the Stegosaurus strikes the Ceratosaurus in the neck and knocks it off its feet. In the background, two other stegosaurs take off to flee the predator.
Artwork by Aibou Tanaka, circa. 1990. Scene of a herd of Brachiosaurus fending off a pair of Allosaurus in lush, green landscape of ferns and conifers. The brachiosaurs are colored a uniform dark brown, whereas the allosaurs are dark orange with brown stripes and splotches. One Brachiosaurus stands bellowing front and center. The other one next to it rises up on its hind legs to squash one of the allosaurs, which lies flailing on its back, while the rest of the herd looks on.
Artwork by Aibou Tanaka, circa. 1990. Scene of a family of Allosaurus resting next to the remains of another dinosaur. The Allosaurus themselves are colored orange with dark brown stripes and splotches. Two younger Allosaurus play perched on the back of their parent, who lies resting belly to the ground. On the right, a pair of small, dark blue Coelurus scavenge the remains of the Allosaurusβ last kill. A pair of plant-eating green-colored Camptosaurus browse on cycads in the background.

- Allosaurus (with Coelurus and Camptosaurus)

06.02.2025 06:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A middle aged black man is in distresses and is sweating profusely. He is suffering from a stroke caused by an embolism that had dislodged from the side of the wall in the left atrium of the heart. White arrows follow the path of the embolism from the atrial wall, up the carotid artery, and into the vessels surrounding the brain.
long periods of #AtrialFibrillation can result in #stroke. Irregular heartbeats prevent the atria from fully emptying, creating areas of stagnant blood along the atrial wall that are vulnerable to clot formation. If this clotting occurs in the left atria, there is a risk of stroke. #SciArt #ArtShare
