I had something like this happen when I saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The film reel broke and melted about 2/3rds of the way through and we all thought it was part of the movie until the lights came up. Drove across town to another showing and talked our way in to see the end.

I think it took a long while for folks to realize what a douche Perry is, but yeah, he's... not great.

Those albums shouldn't be able to retain the level of grandeur and mystique they do after all this time, particularly given what a solipsistic nut Perry has revealed himself to be. But they do!

If you include '87's mostly live album "Jane's Addiction," they have a damn near perfect 3 album run of balls blazing goth metal psych rock. If they'd laid down one more studio album of similar quality before imploding, they'd have been a shoe-in.

(Their subsequent reunion albums have not helped.)

I fully believe Jane's Addiction are one of the most important bands of their time, were an essential part of alt rock's mainstream breakthrough in the '90s, and would already be Rock Hall of Famers had they not been such a bunch of collectively dopey shitheads since their initial break-up.

If any of y'all saw Stereophonic on Broadway, I'd be very interested to hear what you thought of it. Even more so if you've since seen the touring company and can nail down any differences, as they apparently trimmed the script a bit to get the run time down.

Saw the touring production of Stereophonic and it bums me to say this but it was just fine. Get the feeling a big part of the magic was the original cast.

Also: Hey Parents: Don't name your older rock star kid "Win Butler" and then name the younger one "Will Butler," 'cuz that is just confusing.

It's a lot better as memories than it was living through it, but it was a cool experience and I'm glad I had a couple years doing the Hollywood thing.

P.A. stuff - lot of copying scripts, driving them around, taking tapes to post-production. Worked with the writers my second season (Season 6, the series' last) which was more fun and with way less crazy late nights. Got a Story credit out of it. :)
