Each of the 27 Seattle Public Library branches has its own postcard that it’s giving away to patrons. Plus you get a stamp at each location in a stamp book they give you. Got my first at the Green Lake branch today (and a book!).

I’d like to say this was shocking and that I left and reported it to HR. But it was probably 2009 and not too far from the norm of the sexism my friends and I experienced in tech on a regular basis.

Years ago, Richard Dawkins came to speak at an Amazon corporate event to promote his new book at the time. It was in a conference room - maybe 50 people. He said, “Wow, there are a lot of men in here.” An Amazon VP shouted from the crowd, “Survival of the fittest!” … Dawkins laughed heartily.

There is a scene in the first episode of A Man on the Inside where the PI says her sister is 42-years-old and really into Pokemon Go … which is “weird.” This feels potentially specific enough for me to explore a slander lawsuit.

This rewatch is next in the queue for D’Onofriofest. I love a light sci-fi time travel story.

My favorite at the moment is Good Luck, where Vince plays a blind former Seahawk opposite Gregory Hines, whose character uses a wheelchair. They team up to try to win a white water rafting competition and it was surprisingly delightful. Their performances and chemistry were 💯

I’m realizing there is a genre of movie that’s pretty much “white men just realized that the American government is broken and talk at each other about it for three hours” that just isn’t my jam.

At 37% completion of D’Onofriofest after watching JFK tonight. Vince was in it for less than a minute as a witness with his family in Dallas.

I’m 30% through “D’Onofriofest”, which is where I watch a D’Onofrio film every week until I finish his filmography. I use a random number generator to select and get the physical version at @scarecrowvideo.bsky.social
Next week looks to be JFK and I think I’ll start skeeting about this journey.

I just finished Alan Cumming’s memoir where he said people were talking about his armpit hair so much during the Cabaret days, he even had to ask Terry Gross (!!) to change the subject on Fresh Air. So I Googled “alan cumming armpit hair” and had to turn off Safe Search just to get any results. 🤔
