Realisation: the fundamental story in Last Christmas isn't tied to the date, but it's more compelling with the extra seasonal context. Same reason Die Hard is set then. So if you say Die Hard isn't a Christmas movie you're saying Last Christmas isn't a Christmas song. I hope that finally settles it.
