Too often, I see people talk about a replication as if the first study has established something, and the replication study is a double-check. What people often fail to understand is that we do not do replication studies to *check* a finding, but to *establish* a finding. 1/x

We have built a global dataset of observed groundwater time series combined with lots of relevant Earth system variables. Check out Annemarie's poster this morning at #EGU25 A.59 and ask her about all the effort that went into data cleaning!

In our recent paper, we introduce the new #Pastas groundwater signatures module to characterize the behavior observed in groundwater level time series. This concept is well known in streamflow hydrology, but less in groundwater #hydrology. We describe new opportunities to use in groundwater studies.

Thanks for sharing ! We also applied the temperature index model into our lumped groundwater model and got good results for Davos (CH) with very similar parameter values (T=0, k=3.25). This study will help us to set default initial parameters for the snowmelt models for our software / users :)

Interesting ideas to improve reproducibility of scientific studies, I wonder how to ensure that the notebooks will still run in 10, 20, or 30 years time, or if a time limit is required? Even a 10-year guaranteed repro would be a massive step forwards!
