So... I'd love some teachers from the #RE and also #primary sector to read and review my book ππ please message me or tag in response to this! And please retweet π€ #teamRE #PrimarySchool @bloomsburybooksuk.bsky.social
18.04.2025 10:56 β π 6 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0Duolingo teaching me to read Descartes in Vietnamese π #TeamRE
28.04.2025 03:08 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβve thought itβs interesting when pupils write that Jesus died for our sins in exam questions etc - do you think that students should keep their answers religion neutral? Or is it fine to write like that? I do agree that it shouldnβt be taught using that language as Iβd see that as confessional
22.12.2024 11:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Real treat visiting the Buddha shrines and stupa near Krabi, Thailand and Tiger Cave
22.12.2024 10:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Understanding Sikhism by James Holt is really good and very detailed. Also I used the Collins: KS3 book by Neil McKain which I thought was good - and student friendly
19.12.2024 09:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Real treat from @theresthistory.bsky.social club for #TeamRE with the episode Charlemagne: Pagan Hunter for the @holland-tom.bsky.social βs description of Christianisation of Europe . I donβt think the episode is out yet on the free version but great to look forward to for RE/History nerds like me
19.12.2024 05:22 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Great to see you on this app!
24.11.2024 23:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Tomorrow - unbelievable drama on @theresthistory.bsky.social, as we continue our series on NELSON!
Glory, then disaster, as he boldly disobeys his admiral's orders, captures 2 ships, almost single-handedly defeats a much larger fleet β & then, carried away, loses his arm...

I usually listen to historical podcasts when doing house chores, so now I am actually looking forward to unloading/loading the dishwasher because I want to know what happened during the French Revolution. No spoilers!
Incidentally, "The rest is history" is a great podcast.

I enjoyed this comic strip
Try to enjoy it! I always liked the 10 - 15 miles on my training runs. Chance to really get into the countryside too
14.10.2024 10:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Like anything - skills need to be rehearsed otherwise they slip the memory. I believe that exposure throughout school would be effective such as learning it early and revisiting through other subject matter.
21.09.2024 15:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0βNoise begets noiseβ¦ When you call a register, or answer a question or tell a student across the class to get started, you break that spell and the other students β whose attention has not yet concretised around their task β start to bubble up too.β

15.09.2024 10:56 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0#TeamRE Well done to all you ethics teachers!
12.09.2024 08:06 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 1Lastly - I know others have said it but the REpodcastβs decolonising the curriculum series have been amazing at bringing me into the conversation about Dharmic Traditions and how to best present them especially considering potential challenges of using language - so another recommendation for that
11.09.2024 00:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thirdly, I want to recommend James Holts βUnderstanding Seriesβ- I have only read the Sikhism one but thereβs also Buddhism out and Hinduism is due for release next month. Now these are definitely for depth of subject knowledge but there are great insights for how to bring them alive in classrooms
11.09.2024 00:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Secondly, Iβve seen lots of people asking about showing lived experience in the UK but Iβve not seen others recommending the Love, Faith and Me series on bbc player www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis... 5 episodes that deal with real issues (lgbt/fertility/dating) from 5 of the major religions (no Buddhism)
11.09.2024 00:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Firstly, no better resource for helping me teach Buddhism than the Teaching Buddhism Blog which is a project between Edinburgh/Cambridge blogs.ed.ac.uk/teachingbudd... the two video series they have Introduction/who is the Buddha come with full videos as well as, generously shared PPT with notes!
11.09.2024 00:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Just caught up with a few bits from the #TeamRE. #REchatUK on X. Iβve changed my X account to be more personal and less professional but I canβt help but join in the conversation. Iβm sorry I missed it at the time I was flying to Vietnam. Made some recommendations that Iβll also post on this thread
11.09.2024 00:10 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Brilliant! WW2 museum too! We got cheap flights from Bristol airport. If you do go thereβs an awesome dumpling place I would recommend. Steam and fried vegan dumplings blew my mind.
10.09.2024 21:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0GdaΕsk is under-rated! we went there in April this year and had some terrific vegan options and some awesome tourist attractions. Very affordable city too!
10.09.2024 21:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This Sentientism webinar is well worth attending! Itβs completely FREE too π Great to see this making its way to the curriculum #TeamRE

08.09.2024 11:15 β π 7 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0Brilliant what a fantastic new chapter and life is all about this - exciting and well done
03.09.2024 17:55 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you! Not initially. Holidaying first and then looking to explore different options.
Partner works for the charity: AnimalsAsia so thatβs why weβre making the move.
Thanks for the recommendation, I followed her on X but good to connect here also π
Thank you! One way ticket Heathrow to Hanoi on Monday π

Very excited tho nervously trying to sort everything now
As I move to Asia Iβm hoping to create a bit of RE content and use YouTube a bit more.
03.09.2024 16:33 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0#TeamRE Old video Iβve worked on previously on Rastafari- I edited out age inappropriate content and manually added subtitles. Suitable for KS3/KS4. Had to reupload as lost access to previous account.
Enjoy!
