Are the 2026 Warriors incapable of inbounding the ball?

I call this AI coding's "6 finger" problem. I suspect there are a ton of bugs lurking in large scale software that's been written by AI. It's easy to see people with 6 fingers in AI-generated images, but a bit harder to find the subtle errors in tens of thousands of lines of code.
20.01.2026 22:55 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ugh. Curious to see how the W's and Steph respond.
Side note: sad to say, I was in attendance, as I was for Klay's ACL injury too.
I also get frustrated with pizza places that insist on including parmesan, especially when they don't list it as an ingredient. Parmesan, at least to some of us, tastes like vomit.
20.01.2026 19:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0100% this.
So many restaurants have a bizarre urge to give you pickles.
Me: "No pickle please."
Them: "It's on the side."
Me: "No, seriously, no pickle, please."
And still they include it.
I concur. Especially in comparison to FAFSA. Have you gotten to the part where you have to actually upload all your w2s and 1099s? And one school wanted to know the make and years of our cars.

Disappointed that @chrisgeidner.bsky.social was not the pangram today.

Have you been to the Geck Gallery in Brooklyn? Same building as the Bone Museum.

15.01.2026 19:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Photo of a wireless charging pad in the business class armrest on a United 737 Max 8.
First time I've seen wireless charging on a plane (UA 737 Max 8). Nice because I don't have to futz with a charging cable and plug, though makes it hard to use my phone while it's charging.

Are they filming a remake of The Rock?
13.01.2026 23:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0"Stats and dashboards" rings true to me. The "process people" co-opted agile, and were more in love with perfecting the process (as measured by red and green lights and various burn up/burndown charts) rather than building great products.
13.01.2026 21:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The other question I have is, does AI-generated code have a "6 fingers" problem? It's easy enough to see the errors generated images (6 fingers! Missing limbs!), but a bit harder to find them in thousands of lines of code. Puts enormous weight on your test automation.
13.01.2026 21:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And in my experience, most coders don't have these skills. Though more dangerous is when the execs take on those roles. (And justify it by yelling "founder mode".)
13.01.2026 21:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My sense is that AI lowered the bar to producing code that generally seems to work, but it doesn't replace the need to architects and product managers. Yet those roles seem to be getting sidelined. So it's easy to build *something*, but is it the right thing to build, and is it built the right way?

08.01.2026 05:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And by yesterday, I meant today (Wednesday)... I always do the puzz the night before (an advantage on living in Pacific time).
08.01.2026 01:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0For what it's worth, on Wednesdays I assess the length of the down answers. If they are mostly 3-5 letters, I give it a go downs-only. On rare occasions I successfully complete it. But yeah, not a typical Wednesday practice, and yesterday didn't meet by criteria to even try!
08.01.2026 01:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I assume Google has (had?) metrics to evaluate the quality of their search results. Now they put the AI Overview above the actual search results, and it is just wrong on a regular basis (25% of the time?). They've completely devalued what used to be a good product.
08.01.2026 01:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I don't write a lot of formal letters, but my god, how does Google Docs no longer have a simple template for a business letter?
07.01.2026 17:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I've been thinking about this all day. I don't disagree, but I think it also highlights how much we rely on relationships, chains of trust, and (dare I say) credentials as we assess the information we receive from others.
07.01.2026 03:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I tried several spellings assuming I'd just spelled it incorrectly on my first attempt. Alas, no. Google tells me it's a British word.
