The pioneering Japanese actress Takako Irie (入江たか子) was born 115 years ago, on February 7th, 1911. She was the most popular actress at Nikkatsu in the late 20s-30s and, in 1932, became the first woman to establish an independent studio in Japan.

An album that heals, rebuilds, at least for me. Enthralled when first heard coming up for 40 years ago. Still does the same now. It still sounds otherworldly as well. The incredible David Sylvian ‘Gone to Earth’ (1986, 2003 Remaster 2 CD).

last night : seeing the northern lights when they were this strong and visible (you could see all the shimmering and dancing with the naked eye, it was just a bit less colour saturated) was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. utterly humbling and astonishing
