Ten years ago these kind of statements were the preserve of the BNP. Now it is mainstream opinion in the Conservatives.

I can still barely believe how quickly a moderate centre right party turned nativist far right. And media treats this as perfectly normal.

What I don’t get my head around at all is that they had a good picture of the bad state of public finances before the election and yet they behave in government with no strategy or plan whatsoever.

This piece of shit is a terrorist whose vaccine denial is nothing else than mass murder.

I can't believe "Let's pivot our messaging to appeal to far-right voters who'll never support us in a hundred years" hasn't been more successful.

With the USA sliding into outright fascism the EU is the only remaining powerful democratic block.

For UK politicians to refuse to acknowledge this reality is an abdication of responsibility.

No corruption or sex scandals. This is a very low bar but admittedly better than the Tory predecessors.

Other people have received police visits for spreading lies during riots. An MP who incites hatred gets a polite correction.

Just another example of how far right hate spreaders are left to run rampant in this country.

If this tweet came from some loner in their living room while riots were happening, they’d get a visit from the police.

When it comes from an MP the worst that happens is an invite to BBC Question Time to spread the hatred even further.

Nothing justifies the ongoing genocide through starvation or the apartheid regime in the Westbank. These are Israel's crimes and failures. But Hamas was not born out of resistance or hopelessness. They are just terrorists who captured and subjugated Gaza for themselves.

Hamas did not fill a hole. They usurped power in the first free elections and then created a terror regime in Gaza that lasted over twenty years. Throughout that time they continuously provoked Israel with missile attacks and then finally in the Oct. 7 atrocities.

Europe has a massive problem with Russian interference in the Democratic Process. But I fail to see how a different judgement could have changed that. At the end it comes down to lawmakers being willing enough to finally end the flow of Russian money to far right and far left parties across the EU.

A colleague of mine recently expressed it well. At its core EDI just means human decency. So somebody who rejects EDI is not a colleague I would like to have.

They are hostages by a murderous death cult whose leadership still eats well. Whatever else happens, as long as Hamas exists, peace cannot become a reality.

The posts of some politicians are as much stoking hatred as those of people who have been criminalized for their social media posts.

Yet, they can be certain to never be prosecuted for it.

On the contrary, the more radical the more invites to the BBC these politicians get.

If you get fat after giving up your gym membership, the gym isn't punishing you.

Because you chose to quit, you don't get to use the gym equipment or take fitness classes.

It's the same with Brexit. The EU didn't punish us for leaving. We surrendered the benefits of membership.

Words fail me when I see how Starmer ignores the terrible consequences of Brexit and does not listen to his voters, who want the UK to rejoin the EU!

We have been fighting against Brexit for many years —but Starmer is doing nothing. He is a coward.

Starmer is not a European. He must be voted out!

You don’t understand direct action. A single senator can easily be refused entry. If dozens of senators including the leadership turn up together with law enforcement that still abides the constitution it is more difficult to deny entry.

If you want to know what Democrats can do. Old farts like Schumer could leave Washington, go to an actual concentration camp and demand entry as is their constitutional right. A few Democrats have been doing direct action. But the traditional leadership rather keeps on their games in the senate.

All your examples confirm the problem. Democrats work in the system while Trump ignores the courts and creates new realities on the ground. You don’t stop a coup by a few minority leader maneuvers in the senate. Not a single person inside a concentration camp is helped by Schumer.

Some few are doing all they can. Others are trying to rationalise away concentration camps and waive through Trump appointments.

The speed of the fascist takeover is much more akin to an outright coup than e.g. what happened in Hungary. Yet, few US politicians grasp the seriousness of it.

Looking outside from Europe what strikes me is that too many Democrats still consider Trump as a government to be beaten within the system. Instead they have to start looking to successful opposition movements in authoritarian states if they want to begin turn the tide.

The problem with international human rights is that when the USA build concentration camps they can be sure that no Western country will condemn it.

CEO pay is up 1,085% since 1978, while typical worker pay is up just 24%.
