I think through the end of September, I’d try Copenhagen. After that, definitely Portugal with a side trip to some part of Spain.

Well, better than being beaten up by someone in full hockey goalie gear.

They should go back to vests full time.

Don’t trust any Californian who thinks we have the best bagels. They’re wrong and they haven’t traveled.

Well, SOMEONE has to play CF and it sure isn’t going to be Andujar or Sods.

Would add tzatziki sauce instead of yogurt, but otherwise β€œwould eat.”

Nothing wrong with a Lobster Roll. (Warm > Cold). But that price point is a gut punch.

Night of the Long Knives happened, too.

Because Dachau was not enough, they needed Sachsenhausen.

I love collard greens.

If by collard greens you mean a tapestry for vinegar, brown sugar, bacon, and hot sauce.

I’m having a hard time finding the line that separates this from 1934 Germany.

I mean, yes and. I totally care that the Oilers come back and win the series. The Cup belongs in Canada far more than in Florida! And yet, existential dread.

I so wish that today could be all about what position Tyler Soderstrom is best suited to play. We’d all like him to succeed. But political assassinations seem so much more pressing right now.

Tough weekend for you. Don’t feel like you need to be strong, it’s okay to be vulnerable. But maybe avoid situations where your vulnerability will be made an issue.

Thankful for the Starbucks folks who showed up to work at 5:00 this morning, so I could stop and pick up a coffee on my way to my 6:00 work shift.

It’s why I try to always have a smile for the folks working McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, etc. I know it’s not their life ambition, but they’re doing the best they can at the moment. And many learning English in real time.

Watching the college super-regionals really tested my patience. In those smaller stadiums, one jass-ack could heard on every pitch.

Germans making the best potato salad is a β€œfirst day’s take on the third day.” I always preferred my grandmother’s recipe from the old country (Bavaria) to anything found here commercially. Fine balance of bitter and sweet, with loads of umami.

They must have known you were onboard, for your connections at Brussels and KΓΆlm to work. I’ve never had that itinerary get me to Berlin before about 2200.

Rep. Laurel Libby, R-Auburn, recently used my second-place finish in the 1,600-meter run, and that of my teammate in the 800-meter run, to malign Soren Stark-Chessa, the trans-identified athlete who finished first.

One of the reasons I chose to run cross-country and track is the community: Teammates cheering each other on, athletes from different schools coming together, and the fact that personal improvement is valued as much as, if not more than, the place we finish.

Last Friday, I ran the fastest 1,600-meter race I have ever run in middle school or high school track and earned varsity status by my school’s standards. I am extremely proud of the effort I put into the race and the time that I achieved. The fact that someone else finished in front of me didn’t diminish the happiness I felt after finishing that race. I don’t feel like first place was taken from me. Instead, I feel like a happy day was turned ugly by a bully who is using children to make political points.

We are all just kids trying to make our way through high school. Participating in sports is the highlight of high school for some kids. No one was harmed by Soren’s participation in the girls’ track meet, but we are all harmed by the hateful rhetoric of bullies, like Rep. Libby, who want to take sports away from some kids just because of who they are.
