Bartender at the Blue Whale in Collinsport, 1968. Pouring drinks, playing the jukebox & puffing on my stogie. I've seen some things. #DarkShadows Roleplaying with Shadows of Collinwood

27.07.2025 23:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The neon lights of the Blue Whale were already on by the time she parked her car on the side street close to it. The big ramshackle building in which the lounge was located was shabby looking. It's ancient clapboards were peeling paint and it seemed little like a glamor spot. Yet it offered Collinsport's only touch of nightlife and was well patronized. Visitors and the younger set gathered there. Victoria always drew within herself when she entered the noisy, smoke-filled spot. Loud talk and raucous laughter joined with the jukebox to make a constant clamor. Once in there awhile, one became deadened to the noise.
Not the most complimentary description I've heard of my bar...

Come the the Blue Whale where the juke box is always playing...always playing...

Stingers for the both of us!
(Actually on the 4th of July I was digging a grave. I wish that was a role play bit but in reality my vacation was taking care of my senior dog at the end of her life. But I will get a real vacation next week when I go to the Dark Shadows Meet n Greet in Tarrytown!)
I was on vacation, but the Whale is always open with a glass waiting for yeh!

Err, this one must have fallen through one of those time staircases.
But seriously, I choose this one (despite it's 70s-ness) because it's the perfect song both for Preston's life and for June. Happy Pride, everyone!

Just once! That was more than enough for me." The Big Finish story I really want is what happened to this woman when she went to Collinsport. π€¨

Episode 1:
What I really love about the first episode is how we first see everyone. Victoria on the train seeking, Elizabeth framed behind the crosshatching of the window pane like bars, Roger pouring a brandy from a crosshatched decanter (his own prison), each of them alone.

Nice! My DVDs pre-date the release of the coffin by quite a few years. By the time they released the coffin collection, I already had a lot of the series. I couldn't justify rebuying that many DVDs despite the cuteness π
18.06.2025 13:51 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0See kids, these are called DVDs. I'll show you something even older β a VHS tape. In the olden days we used to watch our stories on them. It was an amazing improvement from having to show up at a particular time not of our choosing. Some would say timeslot killed DS: The Revival, but I digress...

//It's been a LOOOONG time since you sent me this, but I've been having some very real life family emergencies. I'm just now getting to listen to this today. I'm only on the first song ("Bubblegum Cards and Pinups") but I have already died twice. This is fabulous!
