Can any plus size queens tell me if the anti-wrinkle Hilara pants are plus size friendly?

Allied health providers supporting people with disability are crashing out since the #NDIS pricing review was published last week.

What many are forgetting is these recommendations have not yet been confirmed - until the new price guide drops, we donโ€™t know what will happen.

NDIS is NDISโ€™ing again and I canโ€™t bring myself to engage with it. I have no more anger I can summon for something I know I should be outraged by.

I swear Mexican food is the best cuisine - how can you be sad or stressy depressy when thereโ€™s Tacos, Burritos, Guacamoleโ€ฆ or the mother of all that is good in the world, Queso?!

You canโ€™t.
Itโ€™s happy food.

Im lucky I donโ€™t catch many bugs - but when I do, thatโ€™s me out for the count, for weeks, sometimes months.

Iโ€™m lucky I have some support to help me through - but many donโ€™t have family or friends to help, or formal services and access to funding for help when they need it.

Before COVID, I didnโ€™t know I was Autistic, or going blind, or had POTs and Diabetes.

Disability doesnโ€™t come with a nice pamphlet on what to do when you catch a mild bug, or when something upsets your homeostasis. Mostly, you have to wing it and hope it works.

Iโ€™m coming through the other side of it now, after WEEKS of being bed bound.

It flattened me.

I couldnโ€™t prepare food for myself, most days I couldnโ€™t do more than go to the bathroom.

The fatigue has been extreme, and brain fog.

Mentally, experiencing this has been more than difficult.

Nothing prepared me for how debilitating a mild cold could be.

A mild cold isnโ€™t mild, when it sets off flares for other conditions and stops your normal medications from working normally.

It takes weeks to recover and return to a semblance of functioning.

1/ I could be wrong - maybe itโ€™s just a bad day - but it certainly seems like millennials are being royally screwed, no matter how high their education or type of work we do - it seems increasingly the only people who have a fair go are those who can draw on generational wealth.

03.06.2025 09:36 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

thereโ€™s something Iโ€™m wondering if other people in my generation (millennial) are rumbling with, and if so what conclusions youโ€™ve come to:

when will we have a fair crack of anything, and long term stability? How do you build a life without generational wealth?

Itโ€™s time to migrate office spaces. Iโ€™m not vibing with the room Iโ€™ve been working out of for the last 18 months - itโ€™s small, thereโ€™s only one power point and the lighting for my broken eyes is less than ideal.

So Iโ€™m moving back to my original home office space, where itโ€™s far comfier!

1/ Reflection is crucial in our roles, it helps us be better at our job - and self care is equally important.

Do what you need to do to process the stressors from this week: journal it, talk with a peer supervisor or therapist, exercise orโ€ฆ have a big olโ€™ snotty cry sesh (my personal favourite).

22.05.2025 23:36 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

If youโ€™re a Support Coordinator or Recovery Coach and this week has sent you over the edge, itโ€™s ok to take a beat to process and feel the feels.

Itโ€™s ok to be worried and scared right now, and frustrated.

Take a beat, reflect, then plan your next steps.

2/ Im also glad tried and true wisdom (and science) works, even when I donโ€™t want it to - that moving my body does in fact, help keep the Big Sad at bay, and helps me process and release stress.

Much to my annoyance, it dang well works a treat.

1/ Iโ€™m thankful I now live in a community where the council makes the effort to ensure parks, shops, roads etc are reasonably accessible - wide, well maintained paths mean I donโ€™t have to expend as much energy worrying about slips, trips and falls when I just need to unwind and empty my mind.

โœจWINNINGโœจ
I was absolutely in the Sad Place yesterday, after new changes by NDIS were abruptly implemented.

Soโ€ฆ my Support Worker took me for a good long walk - we covered a bit over a kilometre.

This is a BIG distance for me, when there are days when I canโ€™t make a cuppa.

Winter for me and other POTs humans is wonderful.

We go from being prisoners in our homes during summer being barely able to get out of our beds, to the best functioning weโ€™re likely to have all year - while freezing out butts off.

Foodies, I need your collective wisdom.

I know nothing about wine, but there are so many recipes that call for it.

How do I know Iโ€™ve got the right wine, when a recipe just says red or white?

How do I know if I have the right one?

Sincerely,

Confused.

Can anyone shed some light on this experience? Itโ€™s quite the rollercoaster!
