Thanks to everyone who met with me, shared their expertise, and shown me the great work happening in Bournemouth. π
It's the spookiest day of the year! π
It was brilliant to see LUSHβs pick of the patch bubble bars being handmade right here in Dorset.
My thanks to Sarah, Director of the Gallery and Museum, and to Ramesh from the BPC Indian Association, for bringing these important and often overlooked stories to life.
It was an honour to tour the Recovering by the Sea exhibition at the Russell-Cotes, which pays tribute to the Indian Army soldiers who fought with bravery on the Western Front and found care in Bournemouth during the First World War.

Our national story is strengthened and richer by the people whoβve fought, served, built, and taught it over generations.
We shouldnβt cram those stories into a single month.

Iβm supporting Loose Womenβs campaign to help people reach safety, and I attended today's launch in Parliament alongside the Minister for Victims and Violence Against Women and Girls
The biggest change to sexual health services since the 1960s starts today.
As part of the NHS contraception service, the morning-after pill is now available free of charge from pharmacies across England.
Not every pharmacy is signed up, so if in doubt, ring and ask.
A pioneer in every sense, Lilian Bader broke barriers as one of the first Black women in the Royal Air Force.
After the war, she made her home in Bournemouth, raising a family and pursuing a career in teaching.
Patchy signal? Trouble with 4G dropping out? π±
Youβre not the only one. I met with Vodafone and Three on Friday to push for better mobile coverage across Bournemouth.
If youβve had problems with your signal, let me know by filling out this form: buff.ly/E1nGwBG
I'll keep you updated on progress.
The new legislation means:
π Emergency hazards must be fixed within 24 hours
π§ Damp and mould must be investigated within 10 working days, and repaired within 5 after that.
π Landlords must keep tenants informed, writing to them with the findings within 3 working days of the inspection.
Five years ago, Awaab Ishak died after prolonged mould exposure in his home. Today, the first phase of Awaabβs Law has come into force.

Thomas Lewis Johnson journeyed from being a slave in Virginia to building a life in Southbourne. Black history is Bournemouthβs historyβand our townβs history is Black history.

So I have taken your concerns to Parliament, to see what more can be done.
You might not have heard of Starlight, but their work helps children cope with serious illness through play.
I joined Sfiyah, Annika, and McKenzie in Parliament, to hear how therapeutic play helped them cope with procedures and treatments while in hospital.
Play is an invaluable resource π
Proud to support Macmillan Cancer Support at todayβs Coffee Morning in Parliament. π
Whatβs been the best coffee morning cake youβve had this year? π°
I'm so glad that menopause screening will be added to NHS Health Checks next year.
Too many women have had to go through the menopause alone; screening will help GPs spot symptoms sooner and offer the right advice and support.
If you're over 40, make sure you book your Health Check when invited.
In Parliament, I wanted to highlight Dorsetβs progress in maternity care, and the stark inequalities we still need to fix.
Because every mother deserves safe, compassionate care, and every baby deserves the best possible start in life.
In Bournemouth East, we have so many brilliant co-ops, from housing and credit unions to community-led projects and football.
These organisations build fairness, opportunity, and local pride from the ground up. Itβs a reminder that real change often starts with people, not profit.
It was good to meet Bournemouth Airportβs leadership and discuss residentsβ concerns, future investment, and better transport links.
Iβm continuing to push for a regular bus service between the town and the airport, which would help passengers and staff travel sustainably. βοΈπ
May this Diwali bring peace, prosperity, and happiness to you and your families.

Growing up, my mum taught me that the menopause isn't taboo.
This #WorldMenopauseDay, Iβm proud to back women in Bournemouth East who are breaking the silence and driving change, and bring their voices to Westminster.
This Play in Healthcare Week, I want to thank the brilliant team at University Hospitals Dorset.
Through play, children build confidence, find comfort, and make sense of whatβs happening around them, even during treatment. The UHD team does incredible work to make that part of children's care.
Hospices give people dignity, comfort, and care when it matters most. π
Iβm proud to support #HospiceCareWeek, which celebrates how hospices do #MoreThanYouThink for people every day.
Thank you to everyone working or volunteering in hospice care in Bournemouth and beyond.

It was inspiring to meet Mariella Frostrup, Chair of Menopause Mandate, and to stand alongside voices calling for change in an important parliamentary debate.
Every woman deserves understanding, care, and support through menopause β itβs time we make that the norm not the exception π
