This week as your MP. Monday 3 - Friday 7 November.
Planted a tribute for West Lancashire in Parliamentβs Remembrance Garden, to honour those who have risked their lives fighting for our country. Invited businesses to my upcoming jobs fair π (more on this soon!) Gave a speech at the Cancer Alliance Leadership Forum. Supported a constituent who was having issues with their tax share code so they could continue working.

This week as your MP. Monday 3 - Friday 7 November.
Attended a meeting about the Β£20 million coming to Skelmersdale through this Labour governmentβs Pride in Place funding to understand more about next steps. Judged all the brilliant Christmas card designs by year 5 pupils across West Lancs. Met with the Charity Commission about the Scarisbrick War Memorial. Went to the unveiling of the Sewing Roomβs amazing banner to commemorate Remembrance Day.

What will the Hillsborough Law do?
1. Introduce a legal duty of candour - which means public officials must act with honesty at all times.
2. Create a new offence for misleading the public.
3. Provide the largest expansion of legal aid in a decade for bereaved families.
Iβm proud that the Governmentβs Hillsborough Law passed its second reading yesterday.
This law is a direct result of decades of campaigning by survivors and families of the 97 who lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster.

1. End no-fault evictions and stop Section 21 evictions.
2. Make all tenancies periodic with no fixed terms.
3. Give renters the right to challenge unfair rent increases
4. Allow tenants to keep pets unless there is a clear reason not to
5. Ban on discrimination: Protects renters with children or on benefits
6. Decent Homes Standard: Tougher safety and quality requirements
7. Stronger enforcement: Penalties and redress schemes for bad landlords
8. Implementation timeline: Now.
Iβm delighted that the Rentersβ Rights Bill received Royal Assent this week, meaning stronger rights for private renters across England, including an end to no-fault evictions and the right to challenge unfair rent increases. π
I know this law will protect the rights of many of my constituents.

Thank you. I donβt actually think of it as a battle. It will win eventually and thereβs not much I can do about that. I see it as medicineβs job to hold it back where it can and my job to defy it by living as fully as possible.

There are many kinds of breast cancer and not all treatments are for all breast cancers. My cancer is triple negative so will not respond to hormonal treatments. How anyone responds to treatment depends on type of cancer and their own unique genetic set up. My cancer is as unique as I am.

Treatments can control but not cure the cancer.
My recent treatment was surgery. That has controlled it for now. I will probably need other treatments in the future as and when the cancer becomes detectable again.

No evidence of disease or active disease (NED or NEAD) does not mean cured. It means right now imaging and testing shows either no detectable cancers or the cancers there are arenβt currently growing.
