Does the use of average speed therefore (somewhat murkily) combine the factors - speed is there but people don’t use it because it’s too expensive. Maybe a better metric would be $/MBit/s and av. distance from exchange to factor the Aus geographics vs say Singapore. It’s definitely pricey tho.

Sure. One issue is what tech companies are expected to earn, driving high charges beyond running costs and a large ad-tier. If it was $1 /month to suppress ads that would be fair for a lot of people say 10m =120$m/ yr . That’s enough by any measure except tech exceptionalism on profit expectation.

I think it’s splitting hairs on that vote count. Greens used Yarra purely for launching into state and federal for years with disregard for local issues or expectations they’d actually stand up for green policies like solar or housing. They sold out to nimbys, the Trump accusation is an admission.
