Again, relying on for-profit orgs for public goods like public health maybe wasn't our best idea.

Aside from a cure, what would it take for chronic illnesses to not be disabling? Let's get wildly imaginative:
- A Universal Basic Income.
- Free healthcare (actually really free).
- A complete reimagining of success, productivity, work and health.

Once again begging Americans to realize that when it comes to "flu-like" illness many doctors are bullshit peddlers & not to be automatically trusted. Be wary when you feel like death & they're diagnosing you with flu without a flu test when there's more contagious SARS is going around

Infuriating to me that our public health policy is so invested in minimizing that most folks don't know you can get reinfected within 28 days with the new strains. And yes, some people get Covid again while they're still getting over the last round.

I really need a digital planner that shows all the events & due dates all at once for me & my immediate family in one place, bc I'm so out of sight out of mind, but doesn't make my brain instantly shut down from seeing it. Or a portable paper one that has enough space to write all the things 🤪

i just want to be sure everyone knows that there is absolutely NO privacy on this fucking website. the firehose-- every post being made by everyone-- is publicly available by API. do not post anything on here you don't want scraped and used by bad actors

So if you don't want to get a vaccine or wear a mask, you have "fatigue," but if you don't want to work 70 hours a week, you're a quitter. I see how it works now.

In the midst of collapse, the bills keep coming, I'm really slammed at work, & my kids' school has endless requests/demands/plans for all the things. Everyone IRL is dissociating so I have to go online to vent/discuss at 11pm when I should be relaxing/sleeping. This country is fucked

'I Couldn't Shift Anything': Senior State Department Official Resigns Over Biden's Gaza Policy Josh Paul, who spent a decade in State's bureau overseeing arms sales, exclusively spoke with HuffPost after quitting over the U.S. approach to the Israel-Palestine conflict.

When the American governments arms dealer decides that he can’t abide and resigns instead of being complicit with what Biden and Bibi are doing alarm bill should be going off. Biden is going to end up loosing democracy through his backing a far right authoritarian like Netanyahu.

“Learn to live with it”is the euphemism for “I’m not going to do (or be able to do) anything about it.”

And they didn't know much about chronic conditions before Covid, too. If a medical person says you have to "live with" a disease, it doesn't mean they will give you any information or support for the "living" part.

The surreality re: illness continues at work. People who were sick in August are sick again. A person in their twenties fears they’re suffering from cognitive decline. Another’s lost count and thinks it’s their 5th or 6th infection. “Maybe the 6th will be easier!” LOLs ensue, etc.

"representative government" is when the entire country wants some economic relief and the leaders keep playing war instead.

there should be a certain number of Things that, once done, absolve you from having to do any more Things for the day

All I know is that effective consistent masking is required to make any progress at all.

I only feel comfortable advocating for known mitigations that people smarter than me have figured out.

I wish people who complain about lack of Covid mitigations in events would also stop posting unmasked selfies to show off how much fun they had without Covid mitigations. Make it make sense.

Sadly RATs are expensive and those who are least likely to afford them are those who also don't have sick days. This is why it would really benefit all of society if we encouraged universal masking. It's also a failure of PH that we don't have free respirators.

Washington Post: To keep the lights on in Gaza City’s largest hospital, Wissam AbuJarad, an anesthetist, said staff were collecting gas from dwindling stocks in the area to maintain a steady supply to their generators.

“If we run out of fuel, then we will lose all of the patients in the ICU, the babies in the incubators, and the patients who need surgery,” AbuJarad said.

He said that some staff had been reduced to drinking from IV solution bags because Israel had cut off water supplies to the enclave.

Jews Blockade the White House Demanding Ceasefire The flicker of hope in Jews calling for an end to apartheid and genocide.

Seeing Jews blockade the White House calling for a ceasefire and a halt to Israel’s genocide was a glimmer of hope as this country has marched in lockstep with Israel’s ethnic cleansing.

We need all this and more to disrupt the war machine.

Incredibly demoralizing to see leftist writers fail to grasp the severity and risk of long covid. The lack of thought or consideration for disabled people on the left is… very hard to reckon with
