Mars Express that is, not the other one
07.10.2025 15:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Used to be mine too - sniff
07.10.2025 15:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0How is continuing to pander to the politics of Reform, dragging the Overton window inexorably to the right "fighting for the soul of the nation"?
02.10.2025 07:16 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Slightly off topic, but I once received a 14 page CV. They didn't get the job
01.10.2025 19:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You'd have thought he would have noticed
01.10.2025 18:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This has developed into a bit of a long thread for what was just a throwaway comment about any new agreement never approaching the benefits of EU membership π
30.09.2025 11:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well ... many countries are members of one or the other, but yes, none is member of both. And while I don't think there is any legal or administrative obstacle, it would be so close to full membership that the members might say "just rejoin already!"
30.09.2025 11:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ahhh - it's been a long day. They might still be easier to get unanimity than full membership - "might" could be doing a bit of heavy lifting here - but also moot for the aforementioned reason
29.09.2025 19:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's not clear to me what you mean
29.09.2025 18:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This German would be in favour
29.09.2025 14:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0True and given the choice, a lot of EU members what rather have a net contributor be a member rather than a net beneficiary. However, it's a bit moot until a UK government decides to rejoin ...
Single Market & Customs Union might be easier, but also require unanimity, of course
I just tried doing this (with βYakety Saxβ), but canβt figure out how to upload it so the sound works.
29.09.2025 02:16 β π 1322 π 413 π¬ 55 π 118In theory, there would be the same application process as any new member. In practice the UK is still the 2nd largest economy in Europe & the EU economy was also negatively affected by Brexit (though less than the UK) so exceptions would most likely be made to ease the process
29.09.2025 14:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think I implied that rejoining the EU and the Single Market and the Customs Union would be a lot more effective in easing trade with Europe than any other measures that the Government is planning. Would the UK be able to walk straight back in? Well, no, but neither would it be that difficult
29.09.2025 14:11 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Did I say that?
29.09.2025 13:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You know what would make it much much easier to trade with Europe?
29.09.2025 13:43 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0auΓer dass die ICE-SchlΓ€ger zu fett sind, um ihn zu fangen
29.09.2025 13:35 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So here we are again. More peddling of watered-down Reform policies, because that's been working so well up to now
29.09.2025 13:31 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0No fan of #bbclaurak, but Starmer most definitely is in trouble, in the Country and behind (not very) closed doors, in the Party
29.09.2025 13:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0They are going to make bugger all from ticket sales as, let's face it, no one in their right mind is travelling to the US from overseas right now. On the plus side that will reduce carbon emissions
29.09.2025 12:52 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The photo is a just a stock pic of Tina herself - which explains why it actually looks like her - the statue, not so much
29.09.2025 12:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You think that many people haven't been saying similar things behind the scenes for months?
29.09.2025 12:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0and you think no one has been doing that? - to no avail!
29.09.2025 12:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's always a lovely day for a bike ride, but some days are lovelier than others
28.09.2025 17:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0!Buen provecho!
28.09.2025 14:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Agreed, but this is from The Third Man
28.09.2025 14:25 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0What about natto?
28.09.2025 14:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1And stupid
28.09.2025 11:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Voting for Brexit and then voting Reform would also not be very smart
