And the computer legitimately respects that! They will try to denounce you and take actions to reduce your relationship, but you can see those coming and, if you have a solid flow of Influence, blunt them! You get to actually play the game, not just Civ: the wargaming experience! It's novel.

In essence, there is a 'war weariness' tug of war that you can spend the Influence resource to change. Where does it start? It starts based on how surprise the war is initiated: if you initiate a war when you're not deep into the negative opinion, they start taking a happiness and combat penalty

So my time with Civ 7 has been the 'easiest' I've ever had with the game. I'm one step away from deity and still reasonably far and away running the best civ. I was talking through it and I realized: this is the first Civ game where the AIs are forced to actually engage with the politics mechanics.

It is REAL FUCKING DIFFICULT to put together my RPG limit break submission when I have been out of the drug that HELPS ME PAY ATTENTION FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME FOR OVER A WEEK and it's illegal to have more than 30 days at a time of it I can't get my psych to send over a damned prescription!

And we see people do things like play a game on a guitar hero guitar, or a dance pad, and the veil is lifted for a moment. It's clear that a rhythm game and a platformer game are closer than they appear.

I'd kinda love to see a platformer game where successful completion means you learned a song.
