I have a new lap cat.

The number of times I’ve heard “[well-known company] does X so we should do it that way” is exhausting to think about. A/B testing can be a big help when this happens. At least in the case of existing apps…

We are left with an eleven year old and a kitten, which I’m sure means we will have some hilarious stories soon.

When I said that three cats was a lot, I really really didn’t mean I wanted one of them to have a secret heart condition. We’re completely heartbroken.

But I’m sorry you had to be up so early.

We have flocks of parrots here. And while they don’t attack, I can confirm that they scream bloody murder for hours at dusk.

There’s so many things to love about LA. One of my favorites is the museums. The LACMA digital witness exhibit closes today. The thought and curation that went into it is amazing.

Ah yes, this. Somehow I couldn’t picture it being live action.

I feel like this is from an animated sequel to the wizard of oz.

That said, it had some amazing acting - especially by Nicholas Hoult

Sometimes, my migraine will go away but I’ll still be really sensitive to sound for a day. That is not the time to see the new superman movie. I get extra cranky about the overlay of 1950s American sensibilities on a modern world.

It’s a well made movie that I just couldn’t make work for me.

Establishment Democrats seem to be against a lot of stuff, but I’ve honestly yet to hear about things they want to accomplish. Seems like they want to be elected to do nothing. And to spit on the folks that have popular policy ideas.

If it weren’t so bleak, I’d sort of want the justices to be on reality tv. I think we all agree Alito gets voted off first.

I’m paying way more attention to Supreme Court analysis than I’d ever hoped to.

Whenever I see Dems claim they are out of power, there’s nothing they can do, I think of Brad Lander and how he escorted people to court while being comptroller and running for mayor. Do something or get the f out of the way so there can be more Brad Landers.

It definitely felt like we were going to drive along a runway at one point. And then we were racing a big united jet very very slowly.

A broken remote airport gate might not be what we want, but it’s probably what we deserve.

We will be bussed to LAX from here once they’re able to get us off the plane.

Lots of time in airports this week. I’m reminded that Air Canada still has a unique way of upsetting me. At least this terminal has lots of adorable dogs in it.

On the other hand, multi-day migraines are still the bane of my existence. But my meds still work rather well on them.

IA are among my favorite writers. So appreciative that they serialize new stories and share them on their blog.

I'm tagging along on one of @axfelix.bsky.social work trips to NYC next week and we've booked an awesome neighbourhood restaurant that gets great reviews. Today, that restaurant just got put on the NYT top 10 list. And all of a sudden, I feel like I need new better travel clothes...

I participated in a user study earlier today, and I think where they went wrong was in telling me to think aloud. That’s just never a good idea.
