Geez, I can imagine 😩 Oh my gosh, this reminded me - my wife is taking a couple online classes this quarter and her running start classmate shared in her introduction that she has been in online school “since the pandemic started in 5th grade” 😭😭😭😩

mentioned to my dentist that I’ve seen him for almost a decade now

“this practice has only been open 6 years though?”

and then he learned 2016 was actually 9+ years ago

the pandemic years really did a number on our perception of time

parents waiting with their teens for the bus in suburbia gives me flashbacks discovering the metro bus at 12 with my friends, no way for our parents to track us - bopping around Capitol Hill, U district, Northgate, until learning transfer tickets expire & getting stranded with no money or phones 💀

garbage pick up was delayed in my county for 2 weeks because of the strike and I’ve never seen people lose their minds like this over not knowing how to handle their own trash for 14 days 💀🤦

My dad is currently fishing in Oregon, floating the length of the state by river - at 74 years old.

This weekend, my mom out-hiked me on our camping trip, completing like 4 trails that would’ve taken me out - at 70 years old.

I freaking love my parents

Things I’m excited for when we get a new car:

- a working key fob for the first time in 5 years
- being able to maintain the speed limit on the freeway for more than 30 minutes
- 4WD
- not scraping over speed bumps with the catalytic converter shield
- more space for dogs and gear for adventures
