Don’t ask me why, but I went to For the love of rugby live last night. What I would pay to see Ben Youngs face today!

Also, Rory Lawson can spin a yarn (or 10)

Really impressive performance.

Also noted that Franco was there…

Is Lancaster actually low-key quite good?

Has the feed just shat itself?

I feel sorry for him. He’s had all this hyperbolic chat about his ability and potential from certain media outlets. This then makes people think he’s far game.

What’s he meant to do say sorry I’m not ready to play at this level?

There’s only one group responsible for the performance, the coaches.

For northern hemisphere club competitions I personally believe

1. Top 14
2. URC
3. Heineken
4. D2
5. Prem
6. Challenge

Both cups could be higher if clubs always put out their best available teams and formats were improved.

When I initially read this I thought The WG was a reference to Gatland…

Not sure you’re qualified.

Might need @dieworkwear.bsky.social to pass final judgement

2. Typically if there’s a lot of swearing then there are other themes that I wouldn’t want to expose my kids to either

There’s two things I’m find it hard to get my head round,
1. Wanting to play a video game with my children in the room; if I’m playing a game it’s to escape real life, having a kid there detracts from being able to immerse myself - unless we’re playing the game together

All those small changes you’ve made do add up, but the magic is what drove you to make them. That’s the thing that we should be trying to harness!

Now somebody smarter than me can figure out how to do all that!

Striking the balance with medications where they are not demonised or treated like the magic bullet

I guess my point is the basic education part has been done since I was a kid.
We need a change, but maybe it needs to look more like coaching healthy behaviours, fostering good relationships with food, weaning ourselves off the dopamine drop and bring back the joy of delayed gratification and

The problem isn’t the medication, it’s how it’s used. It should be a tool in the toolbox, not the complete solution. GLP-1 meds should help people lose the weight, build good habits and get moving. But collective mindset is all about quick wins and not the long term.

Genetic, I need medication to bring it down. Turns out it runs in the family. Since finding that out I’ve changed certain things about how I eat, and my BP has come down further. But I’ll still be taking that pill every day forever.

Being holistically healthy is a really difficult thing to achieve.
I’m 37, 6’2”, 92KG, lift 4 times a week, regular cardio, never really focussed heavily on diet other than eating a bit more or less depending on how I looked. Found out last I had high BP.

It’s because it’s visible and tangible. And people (think they) understand the system of “eat to much; get fat”. Whereas the systems that regulate mental wellbeing and cholesterol are perceived as being more complex.
In reality, these systems are highly complex and, importantly, interdependent!

It’s this line at the end:

He sighs. “I’m so far behind on everything.”

He’s hit that awful point when the thing you are passionate about has become a chore.
And then to have the the pressure of people desperately wanting you to finish the books. I feel sorry for him.

Yes! That’s exactly where I’m thinking of. Always wondered what it was before it became a gym.
I’m glad they kept the facade, combination of Art Deco and Granite is wonderful!

Is this now a Nuffield Gym? Top of Holborn? Lived in Aberdeen for 8 years, barely been back in the 8 years since!

All three

I don’t disagree. I’m just saying what I think the SRU will do.

Thinking like the SRU, Laidlaw is already in the house so very likely. But available you Cockers and Diamond… not sure who else is available

Who’s the replacement? My money is on Laidlaw…
