Well that's awkward. In @REWearmouth's 2024 book, this lovely footnote appears, describing how Morgan McSweeney and Peter Mandelson had their first meet-cute in 2001 and developed a relationship thereafter. Such a mystery how Petey became Ambassador. * - * The two grew to know and trust each other, and Mandelson remained a key influence on McSweeney's thinking.

Seems to me like the big question here is “who knew what, and when did they know it”.
