all the Dems TV ads I saw before the election were about lower taxes for the middle classes or whatever, all the GOP ads were about mental transphobic stuff, but crucially their way in wasn't "we think X is bad" but "Kamala is obsessed with X and she loooooooves it all", and people fell for it!

Man on Fire (2004) sits at 38% on Rotten Tomatoes, proof that critics don't always see the vision. Tony Scott turned vengeance into poetry, and Denzel Washington gave one of his most quietly devastating performances.

whatever you think of Spanberger, the fact that her opponent ran a campaign based almost entirely on transphobia and is on track to eat shit in the biggest blowout the state has seen since 2009 is unambiguously a huge win

Iโ€™m watching the Kathryn Bigelow nuclear war movie and just wanna say now that Iโ€™d vastly prefer any of the actors involved to be in charge should we face a nuclear threat than pretty much any Trump cabinet member. Hegseth? No, give me Jared Harris

I agree 100% with this. Most Americans, most of the time, do not want to think about politics. But this is a time when we have to.

A solid majority of this country hates what Trump is doing *once they get a good look at what that is*.

let me share a little story about a remarkable wasp that I encountered yesterday in our local deserts

I stumbled across her, and scrambled to get a few crappy photos .... but then realized that she had a burrow, perhaps a better photo op was possible ??

here she is at her burrow entrance.
