16.02.2026 18:24 โ ๐ 11033 ๐ 2210 ๐ฌ 454 ๐ 620AOCโs biggest problem if she runs for president is that the white men who control our media ecosystem will not so much put a finger on the scale to stop her as an entire hand
it can be done (see: Zohran) but itโs going to be blatant and itโs going to be infuriating
Left-of-center voters today are more loyal to the democratic party than they have *ever* been in history, and the bloc of voters that ID as left-of-center is bigger than it was 20 years ago. If thats not enough, I have to wonder what, exactly, is the benchmark for success here!
16.02.2026 20:14 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It feels dumb, but I loved that car, and I'm very sad to see it go so quickly. Before I got it, I was afraid of driving, and avoided driving at all costs, and I came to love driving in that car, with the top down in the summers. I would look for excuses to go out and run an errand somewhere.
16.02.2026 20:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0February remains, for me, the worst month of the year by a wide margin. I think I'm on a run of 6 straight abysmal Februaries, and I really thought this year was going to break the streak.

16.02.2026 20:05 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0from the perspective of someone who might want to be president, the best time to run for the white house is now, not later. so if AOC is thinking about it โ if the white house is her ambition โ then her best bet is to throw her hat in the ring

15.02.2026 09:49 โ ๐ 1196 ๐ 185 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 1Thats why this is a good line of argument to push! If you can make that the terrain we're fighting on, thats good! It captures the essence of the right wing position- "*They* are why you're poor and insecure"- and putting it in the context where we can most easily refute it and build our message.

15.02.2026 21:25 โ ๐ 13 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0A lot of the lessons of the Biden era are rendered unreliable at best by this fact. "The president cannot, or will not, do the essential work of politics- performance and communication" just fundamentally undercuts any strategy. And yes, the media environment mattered, but...
15.02.2026 21:25 โ ๐ 33 ๐ 6 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0I'm begging senators to learn that when you say "both parties have done X" and republicans insist "democrats have done X, We're innocent" the takeaway is that the only thing democrats and Republicans can agree on is that democrats are bad and do bad things. This is bad for the democratic party.
