09.11.2025 22:02 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0Better Sv% than the walrus goalie
28.10.2025 18:47 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I mean the team has 2 dmen who would play on a contending team 1 F who can reliably transport the puck. The positive 5v5 play shows Sully’s great scheme in spite of personnel, Quinn’s PP is predictably trash and Laf Is playing well just unlucky. Just waiting for the rebuild either way.
28.10.2025 16:32 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yeah perhaps the craziest part of last night is Mailloux not being on for any GA.
28.10.2025 15:49 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I’m sure the Hofer shot chart is a blood bath.
What’s crazy is looking at the numbers, anything on goal within about 25ft against him has roughly a 50/50 chance of going in.
Oh wow, I went to high school with the guy who wrote this.
24.10.2025 16:58 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yeah they got no finishers on the roster. Seems like a good spot for idk Nick Robertson….
23.10.2025 12:51 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0They just need a finisher. Doesn’t look like Coronato is that guy
23.10.2025 12:24 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Man it’s like watching the first few scenes of American History X and going “I don’t get it, what’s the big deal?”
21.10.2025 16:20 — 👍 5 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0like your line optimizer idea.
Curious about a deployment optimization scale for teams- who plays their actual best players for a given game state/situation (Hold lead, need goal, etc) the most and vice versa
Roughly a correlation score between contextualized sG and your Leverage deployment data.
Yeah I mean it's a very interesting start they've had. Awful goaltending, high event play at both ends with some meh defense but great offense & a dominant PP -mostly from Kreider finishing.
Q seems to have tightened up the NZ & transition play a bit but they've only won games because of Kreids/PP.
Funny enough this is basically the inverse of the typical Rangers experience.
15.10.2025 12:33 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0The jump from Cronin to Q schematically is pretty sizable.
15.10.2025 11:47 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0My favorite Lindgren stat through 2 GP this year is that he hasn't completed a single pass in the offensive zone.
The other 5 Dmen have combined for 23 shot assists. Lindgren has 0 completed passes of any kind.
That's not really offense, that's a byproduct of the other team always having the puck.
I'm not sure what you mean by fancy chart, Kraken are hemmed in their zone whenever he's on the ice. Scoring Chances are 27-8 for the opposition with him. He's not stopping anyone from entering the zone & incapable of getting the puck out. I guess we have a different definition of good defense.
14.10.2025 17:31 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Man that Ryan Lindgren signing is turning out....exactly as expected heh.
I think Montour has had more offense in the 7 minutes away from Lindgren than the 30+ mins with him.
But the roster is solid aside from lighting 11mil on fire with Stephenson & Lindgren. On-ice metrics w/o them are great.
I guess if you’re a dumb enough team to go out and get guys like Reaves and Goodrow, you’re also dumb enough to play them.
I’ve been seeing Grier get some praise from folks at times and i honestly have no idea where it comes from.
Hope he’s having a nice celebratory breakfast salad.
11.10.2025 12:28 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I mean only 6 shot attempts against at 5v5, drew a penalty, 50% from the dot. Looks pretty good to me.
I will say it was weird to hear the ESPN broadcast try to make this clear distinction that the Staal line was the 3L and the Hall line was the 4L. Feels like RBA uses them more like off/def lines
The only real commitment Detroit needs to make to improve is getting Hamonic & Chiarot off the roster.
10.10.2025 18:22 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Oh agreed 100%. I just think with their current d lineup each bot4 pair has at least 1 (if not 2) pretty big weak links. And the discrepancy in metrics between a d pair with a weak link vs. without is always going to look massive. I think the Jets can mitigate a lot of their losses. But they're not.
10.10.2025 13:37 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I mean playing Stanley & Schenn over Salomonsson & Heinola is certainly a choice. Pretty predictable outcome.
10.10.2025 12:53 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Kicking off your tenure by trading away Spence for pennies and spending 13 mil on Ceci/Dumoulin/Armia/Perry is pretty legendary. And that's with Edmundson already the top 4.
Hard to think of a job aside from college football coach where you can be so consistently awful and still get hired.
I mean Evander Kane is very much employed, as is Toews.Teams have shown that they'll put up with almost anything if they "think" you're a good player.
I just don't think it means much that 2 teams that suck at evaluating talent passed over him.
But good on-ice results follow Kaliyev wherever he is
Yeah I mean @hockeyviz.com has had him as a top 6F his entire career. At this point he's basically been Kakko at his peak if Kakko shot the puck as much as people have wanted him to.
06.10.2025 15:55 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0They don't make 12ths like they used to (with mountains of cocaine).

30.09.2025 22:16 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I mean I'm pretty sure @hockeyviz.com 's model already has him as a top 40 F in terms of isolated impact
