I still have a maxtor drive full of 15 year old video projects and fire it up once in a while for archeological purposes. The housing failed at one point but the old girl is still spinning.

I did this, I was AMPED to talk about George Eliot at 9 am after a jar of espresso. You could see them dying internally.

The fact that smokers have an exception to qualify for the updated shot is wild since we are already protected by the covid nicotine paradox.

Book cover. The scene is a narrow street with row homes lit by street lamp along the left, with brick stoops. The title is in white sans serif: Whatever Happened to Eddy Crane? The subtitle is smaller, in gold: a memoir and a murder investigation. My name, kate crane, is in white caps. The blurb at the top says: Beautifully crafted. Crane stirred the embers of a Baltimore cold case everyone else was willing to forget – her father’s. β€”David Simon.

My dad disappeared from his Baltimore trucking company when I was a kid. 20 years later, I went looking for answers.

I did it to survive.

In telling this story, I hope in some way to help others do the same.

β€œWhatever Happened to Eddy Crane?” is out in April 2026. This is the cover…

My favorite thing is a different man falling for her every episode. Except for the gigolo, that dude was creepy.

Fredric Brown could qualify, though he did get one reprinted during that first wave of Black Lizard. Do people know The Fabulous Clipjoint or The Lenient Beast?

Well people think they know Cain, but no one ever talks about Serenade. He wrote a lot of bad books but I’ll argue that Serenade is the best he wrote.

Idk if that’s a positive ID, but could be. Don’t thank me, I love digging into this stuff. Also noticed there’s a Chester Himes excerpt in that issue of Players!

His art style in the greeting cards is definitely different but the signature looks the same.

Loving this pastel Chester Himes/Harvey Kurtzman thing Bob was working with. Bob Smith sounds like it could be a pseudonym.

No wants to admit to reading all of Bukowski at 19, but that happily led me to John Fante. That said I bet Post Office still holds up?

Skinny Malinky Leads the war for Kidness is criminally out of print, post-apocalyptic sci-fi for kids. Blew my mind at 13.
