This is what happens when you house children on their own in hotels, rather than providing them with proper care. That more children then went missing from reception centres after the High Court banned them being housed in hotels is appalling.

What is WRONG with this government?

To be clear: deportations to increase cultural homogeneity is the text book definition of ethnic cleansing. Demands that come even close to this are so far outside any democratic norm and the rule of law. What has happened to a country when this is not condemned in the strongest possible terms?

Asked to put a date on it, Starmer reiterates his commitment to do so by the end of this Parliament. When it's put to him that is four years away, he says he would like to bring that date forward, but does not commit to another date.

I find Keir Starmer, profoundly depressing on this subject. He has been catastrophically weak.
