Certain celebrity deaths are harder to process than others because the person in question was so full of life and creativity and originality that you just assume it's never going to end.

I'm sorry Holly Hunter that you're stuck with a plot that seems to be "mother figure helps lost child to find his real mom". You're Captain and doing emotional labour. Women can have it all in a thousand years.

"Why does everything have to be a lesson here?"
"Because it's a school"

Ah, the sharp dialogue that really defines streaming Trek.

The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, Annie Hall, Reds, Baby Boom, The First Wives Club, etc. etc. etc.

Diane Keaton's range was astonishing.

(Reds is perhaps my favorite of her performances)

RIP to Diane Keaton, who wasn't only brilliant in The First Wives Club, but hands down gave the best performance in The Godfather films and was the heart of the entire saga, I said what I said.

Diane Keaton could have directed Annie Hall but Woody Allen could NEVER have directed the music video for Belinda Carlisle's "Heaven is a Place on Earth"

Flesh Mirror is a fascinating exploration of miscommunication and shifting realities. Weave Movement Theatre's collective of disabled artists have created a Lynchian meditation on how they are seen and heard in the world. www.keithgow.com/2025/10/revi...

Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me in a walk. it was shrugged off in '92 and it took at least 20 years (and Mulholland Dr didn't hurt none) for being a Lynch proponent to go from being a niche phenomenon to becoming a mainstream cinephile position

On the one hand, this is cute.
On the other, writers should be able to talk about the political climate they are writing in without having to be cute.

Today is World Homeless Day, and after years reporting on this crisis, I'll just say: homelessness is neither inevitable nor intractable. It's the result of choicesβ€”political, economic, moralβ€”that can be unmade.

And this: how we treat the unhoused is a bellwether for the violence we will tolerate.
