As a cis girl in the UK I was a member of the boy scouts. There were no rules against girls in boy scouts or boys in girl guides. It's only now there's a weird "purity" to gendered spaces that was never there before.

What confuses me most is the people who are vocally anti-AI will happily post reports like this. I'm honestly confused as to the headspace which makes them think this is different.

This is a genuine question on why people think it's okay to use AI for translation rather than hire a translator, but it's not okay for other creative endeavours?

Like writing and art, AI is bad at translation. All three take years of effort. Don't give it a pass just because you're not bilingual.

This is the UK. I came from Japan which is a cash economy where I would carry like $1000 on me at all times XD. A coffee is also just a coffee there (you get it black then can add bits as needed)

The problem with the UK is that you have to budget £300 for an accountant because the process is unfathomable. They have an expenses section that they TAX despite the fact that it's money you paid out. Accountants are required to not get scalped.

Ah the work/life balance that's another factor I didn't consider. Very likely that the high stress will contribute thanks to the lack of holidays and breaks. Not to mention there's that culture of sometimes being rude to service workers that can't be good for them.

Yea a lack of walkable cities would be highly detrimental for health outcomes due to limited exercise on top of the fact that it couples with lack of access to necessary services before you even include auto accidents.

The healthcare thing I can see obviously. I don't think gun violence is included because it was like "natural life" though obviously it would be nicer to not fear being shot in the street.

My other considerations were poverty and inequality and food quality which is extremely low over there.

I just found out that life expectancy in the US is low to mid 70s. What the hell? Britain is a shit hole and ours is mid to late 80s.
