The techbros and Board Directors assume their jobs are safe but I think starting at the top with AI is going to be easier than they think. 😂

Plows, PC’s, and spreadsheets were tools that still need a human in the loop. Ai aims to replace the human, and the organisation they work for, not improve their work.

I’m still amazed that in a first world country 40 million people need to be on food stamps and that doesn’t cause outrage.

I’m considering if I will continue to put useful content that is very time consuming to produce up on our company website. From a business perspective rather than a hobby, why do it if AI is going to scrape it and no one comes to your site?

So the US approach to strategic competition with China is to think short term. Pity the next two presidents that have to clean up this mess and try and catch up on China’s tech leadership in solar, wind, motor vehicles, high tech industrial base.

Artists rejoice as Labor rules out copyright carve-out for AI Labor has ruled out changing copyright laws to give tech giants free rein to train artificial intelligence models on creative works, after the proposition was met with widespread backlash from artists...

Australian artists, journalists, authors and researchers create the stories and knowledge that shapes who we are as a nation.

If AI companies want access to their work, they should have to negotiate with copyright holders like anyone else.

Lots of civilians in an easy target get killed. Sounds like a Putin wannabe dividing the world into spheres of influence. Clear message to small countries is they all need nukes.

the point of the ballroom obvs has nothing to do with aesthetics. it's to create an architectural structure to honor the patronage networks that currently dominate US politics. previous WH venues hosted maybe a couple of hundred people; this hosts nearly 1,000 rich donors.

there's a video somewhere of chamath palihapitiya saying that he used to donate millions to democrats but couldn't get a meeting, but is able to with republicans. like everyone, rich donors want to feel special. no better way to make them feel special than a WH ballroom, earning parties more $$$
