Why wouldn’t one of the nation’s most prominent journalists be publishing clickbait and emojis on Musk’s cesspit?

After all it is 2026.

I dislike the student loans policy intensely, but this is a full on con by media entities that are as culpable as the politicians that put these policies in place.

The campaign at the moment is entirely focused on Plan 2, introduced by the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats. The Conservatives made them much worse once on their own, and then introduced Plan 5, which is much worse again.

The media basically completely ignored all of this.

In my head I’d quite like to be called for jury service but I think if I actually had to do it I’d be first annoyed and then bored out of my mind.

How have I not thought about this for twenty years and now it’s come up twice in a week.

I’d put it at about 90% she’s evil and 10% she’s naive and has been manipulated by the gender critical lobby.

I find this notion of some big pivot massively at odds with their, if anything, accelerated attacks on trans people over the last week.

There are a lot more links between The New York Times and Jeffrey Epstein than between Keir Starmer and Jeffrey Epstein.

I also don’t really buy the argument that it’s necessary due to rising numbers. We don’t think about school age education this way despite the leavers’ age slowly climbing.

In fact I’m not really sure we think of anything the way we think about student finance.

It’s one thing to make successful graduates pay for their own university education. Making them then pay twice over for other people’s is unjust: they are on the hook as high tax payers and because of the RPI+3 interest.

A bit hyperbolic but: it’s not progressive, it’s age discrimination.

I think this is a big misread.

I support progressive taxation. I don’t support a second layer of progressive taxation for the young.

This is generally how I feel. I am left wing but I have a lot more sympathy for Labour on economic issues than I do on social ones. They’ve made a whole host of choices that haven’t just disappointed but disgusted socially liberal people who span the left to centre right.

It seems like repealing EA almost made it into their manifesto. It’s in the draft on their website but not in the final version as far as I can see.

There are plenty of things Cass says that can be contradicted by people with other backgrounds. e.g. dodgy statistics is dodgy statistics in any field.

It could of course be both. After all she recently compared social media to peanuts why explaining why the former must be banned and we don’t need evidence.
