Love the juxtaposition between the headline and the two smiling people taking a selfie.
27.02.2026 09:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Why wouldnβt one of the nationβs most prominent journalists be publishing clickbait and emojis on Muskβs cesspit?
After all it is 2026.
I dislike the student loans policy intensely, but this is a full on con by media entities that are as culpable as the politicians that put these policies in place.
26.02.2026 07:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The campaign at the moment is entirely focused on Plan 2, introduced by the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats. The Conservatives made them much worse once on their own, and then introduced Plan 5, which is much worse again.
The media basically completely ignored all of this.
In my head Iβd quite like to be called for jury service but I think if I actually had to do it Iβd be first annoyed and then bored out of my mind.
25.02.2026 12:56 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0How have I not thought about this for twenty years and now itβs come up twice in a week.

Iβd put it at about 90% sheβs evil and 10% sheβs naive and has been manipulated by the gender critical lobby.
22.02.2026 22:46 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I find this notion of some big pivot massively at odds with their, if anything, accelerated attacks on trans people over the last week.
21.02.2026 13:56 β π 17 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There are a lot more links between The New York Times and Jeffrey Epstein than between Keir Starmer and Jeffrey Epstein.
19.02.2026 14:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Heβs having a bad enough day already I expect.
19.02.2026 14:10 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I also donβt really buy the argument that itβs necessary due to rising numbers. We donβt think about school age education this way despite the leaversβ age slowly climbing.
In fact Iβm not really sure we think of anything the way we think about student finance.
Itβs one thing to make successful graduates pay for their own university education. Making them then pay twice over for other peopleβs is unjust: they are on the hook as high tax payers and because of the RPI+3 interest.
A bit hyperbolic but: itβs not progressive, itβs age discrimination.
I think this is a big misread.
I support progressive taxation. I donβt support a second layer of progressive taxation for the young.
This is generally how I feel. I am left wing but I have a lot more sympathy for Labour on economic issues than I do on social ones. Theyβve made a whole host of choices that havenβt just disappointed but disgusted socially liberal people who span the left to centre right.
17.02.2026 14:41 β π 11 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0It seems like repealing EA almost made it into their manifesto. Itβs in the draft on their website but not in the final version as far as I can see.
17.02.2026 12:18 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0β¦ wasnβt that literally in their contract (the manifesto they massively reneged on).
17.02.2026 12:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0How many more years of Brexit dishonesty are we going to get from the Tories?
17.02.2026 09:14 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I actually think itβs quite clear that you are. Badenochβs argument, at least a few weeks ago, was literally if we ban children we can -deregulate- social media.
16.02.2026 16:35 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Itβs the Governmentβs duty to protect all communities - including trans people.
Theyβre failing to do that.
Trans people deserve safety and dignity.

There are plenty of things Cass says that can be contradicted by people with other backgrounds. e.g. dodgy statistics is dodgy statistics in any field.

15.02.2026 19:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I got the distinct impression reading the review that Cass has weak maths/stats literacy or that sheβs a really poor communicator.
It could of course be both. After all she recently compared social media to peanuts why explaining why the former must be banned and we donβt need evidence.
That is absolutely amazing. A graph with no labels, no legend, and where the data has been fabricated in a way that implies trans people donβt exist.

15.02.2026 10:46 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs hilarious the degree to which the media convinces themselves of the popularity of Streeting and Mahmood, because they spend all of their time reading other people in the media glazing Streeting and Mahmood.
