I think most of us cannot label our feelings “optimistic” because these agents moving elsewhere means they will be kidnapping folks we cannot defend because of proximity. So we are hoping our literal neighbors get some relief, but dreading the story as it moves elsewhere.

Fuck this makes me so mad

I had the same experience. I was in MD last week due to a family emergency and kept being surprised at how the streets and stores and being in public just felt completely different. It was surreal

Fascism wants you to believe that you are alone. That you are isolated. That the feelings you have are yours and nobody else has them because everybody is too afraid to speak.

But love is stronger than fascism. Community is stronger than fascism.

1 onion chopped, saute in butter
Add chopped carrots and ground bison and cook until bison is browned.
Add herbs like thyme, oregano, sage, marjoram, garlic, chili powder, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper. Add more than you think, because there’s a lot of filling.

I’m midwestern but not from Minnesota, so maybe the second? I kind of just throw in a lot of herbs (sage, thyme, oregano), lots of garlic, a very generous handful of chili powder. It’s different every time I make it, but the key is that you need far more herbs and spices than you think.

Also, my tater tots hotdish was damn tasty tonight. The secret is the season the hell out if it.

Outside of Minnesota, it might feel like everything has changed since Alex Pretti’s murder. But ICE hasn’t actually lost any power and they’re continuing to terrorize our communities.

Yes! She’s given me bean seedlings and mint and basil cuttings when I’ve gone there

My Huong Kitchen was already one of my favorite restaurants. Once I went and the owner gave us a few bean seedling to plant in our garden, another time she gave us mint and basil cuttings that rooted and I planted.
