So. Occam's razor is a valid principle. But it's very often misused, and this is a classic example. The common statement of Occam's razor is that the simplest explanation is usually the right one. In actuality, it's that the explanation requiring the fewest assumptions is the right one.

It has changed so much over time and ppl don't realize. I was openly antizionist (not super vocally but in terms of belief/identity) at Stern in the early 2000s and ppl just thought I was weird but accepted me. (Some did get mad at me for protesting the Iraq war, though.)

The people pushing the lab leak theory want a major crackdown on viral research, precisely the kind of work that will prevent the next global pandemic. The more extreme lab-leakers want to jail scientists and shut down public health institutions entirely.

Ok but that's not the argument -- obv top women are better than average men. The average male is superior to the average female, though, in most sports, and top men beat top women.

I'm totally opposed to chromosome testing but denying this basic reality is just as nuts as denying any reality.

This is silly. My sport is running. Good (not even the best, just the whole top tier) high school boys beat pro women. Every year a few hundred high school boys run a mile faster than the US women's record.

I had this happen this past month too. Somebody somehow got my card number onto a digital wallet and made 4 purchases of $80-120 at American Eagle Outfitters Online. Thankfully I caught it at that stage and got a new card issued. Must be a new form of fraud
