I wrote about this a bit in my last book but it really shakes me that a defining feature of this catastrophic era is that we just keep going to work. We work through pandemics, we work through natural disasters, we work through economic calamity, we work through coups, we work, we work, we work.

Taylor Roe, a first-year pro, wins the USATF 10 Mile Championships and sets a pending American record of 49:53. She's the first American woman to run under 50 minutes for 10 miles, and this is her second national title in just over a month.
She also set a pending 15K record as well.
I don't know why this story, among so many horrific stories, is the one that's stuck in my head. Perhaps it's because I relate to medical workers. Maybe it's the absurdity of burying them all like they were trying to forget about it. But it haunts me.

If you happen to know of any fae-like creatures from cultures around the world that have autistic features (canβt lie, faces donβt convey emotion, look young, changeling stage at late infancy stage, etc.) I would love to know about them!
This is an important report. We haven't seen this since earlier days of the pandemic, mostly pre-mass vaccination and mass immunity. This reinforces the ongoing risk to immunocompromised people from SARS-CoV-2 -- wear a mask when you're sick and don't go out in public when sick if possible!

My teens were writing a paper & it was fun seeing them find sources but I realized something I hadn't thought about: at some point post-school we aren't finding sources to learn more but rather for best citation. And it's the hardest part of writing a manuscript, once the study is done

This is silly. My sport is running. Good (not even the best, just the whole top tier) high school boys beat pro women. Every year a few hundred high school boys run a mile faster than the US women's record.
