I understand all that. I was replying to the specific statements made by some in comparing European cities to ones in the US.

(As a tourist in NYC, I'd say many of the same things about the parts of the city that tourists tend to visit.)

True about some things, but most of us tourists tend to stay in the tourist areas. Things sometimes look different in other parts of the city or country, even in Europe.

And notice that none of them felt the need to scapegoat immigrants as the reason Americans are struggling. It's almost like a good chunk of us have caught on.

I was somewhat relieved when my #astros didn't make the postseason because I could stop letting a sports team dictate my emotional state. But then I fell in love with the #bluejays, and now I've got a few more days of this roller coaster ride. Because F the #dodgers.

Blue state liberals are honestly some of the meanest, most myopic people I have the misfortune to come across online. There are more Democratic voters in my state of Texas than in the entire state of Massachusetts, but still we get discarded along with the red voters here.

I live in Texas. Of those who voted in 2024, 46% of us voted for Harris. And a lot didn't vote at all. Yes, there are a lot of people who vote against their self interest, but those who voted against all this don't deserve to be discarded along with them.
