Hi Peggy, are you looking for judges by any chance? I am interested. I have recent experience as a judge for the Crime Writers of Canada Awards.

I have been a frequent user of the Halifax cardiac service - as an inpatient and an outpatient - for the past 2 years. I have received timely, excellent care throughout. My cardiologist and my primary care doc have communicated well. I'm lucky in that regard. I hope you get the same experience.

Thanks, this is my life now. Apparently I am being "medically managed". I sincerely hope you received treatment early enough to avoid the path that I am on.

Yes, the same thing happened to me. My migraines disappeared completely with blood pressure meds. Yay! Sadly, my heart condition is now at the point that I have to wear a nitro patch for 12 hours every day and the migraines have returned for at least 6 of those hours daily. Sucks to be me I guess. โ˜น๏ธ

Yup, and at Halloween in some hamlets the kids are accompanied by adults with rifles in case of polar bears - or sometimes even the festivities are moved inside if there have been many sightings. Polar bears are not cute cuddly critters!

Employee killed by polar bears was taking photos at remote worksite, company report says | CBC News A report from Nasittuq Corporation shows an employee working with the logistics company on Brevoort Island was taking photos of a polar bear when a second bear attacked and killed him.

I'm not far from here, and there is precisely one way to safely take pictures of polar bears: by drone.

*Everyone* who works in the Arctic knows this. People up here don't open carry 50 cal rifles in the winter for shits and gigglesโ€“humans are very much on the menu for polar bears.

Can concur. Often walked to work in Iqaluit, NU in -30C base temp. My coldest experience was -68C windchill in Kugaaruk, NU. Did I get frostbite on the tiny bit of my face that was exposed? Yes, yes I did.

I see your traffic woes and lack of infrastructure in Bedford and raise you ... Fairview. Cranes everywhere. Thousands of new units built on aging inadequate infrastructure. Our once affordable, cohesive community shattered. Pox on developers and bad urban planning. Sigh.

I'm enjoying the pics as well. Even though I lived in the Arctic, often surrounded by northern lights, I could not see them due to some quirk with my visual receptors. What you experienced in Western Ross sounds magical.

I like 8.5 x 11 for my colouring books because I can put a standard size page between to prevent bleed through when I use markers.

Beautifully crafted indeed! The maker is Victoria Kakuktinniq, the owner of Victoria's Arctic Fashion. Check her website for her gorgeous designs. I didn't make it to Resolute. I worked in Iglulik, Kugaaruk, Kugluktuk, Cambridge Bay, Rankin Inlet, Kinningait, Pond Inlet & Kimmirut. Loved it all.

When I lived in Iqaluit and travelled to many of the hamlets I invested in a locally made parka, sealskin mittens and sealskin boots. I was toasty warm!

Great video! I scrolled through all these comments and every time I saw lyrics I sung them automatically because they are seared into my brain. When I get dementia just bang the Clash albums into my ears on repeat and I'll be happy.

Your baskets look lovely! I agree they are better value because they are personally curated around a theme and chock full of goodies. But even $70 for a gift basket is steep for many folks. As a solo senior my budget for gifts has - sadly - diminished significantly over the past couple of years.

I understand the numbers, but all it would take is a sentence to acknowledge their existence & include them in the global population. The majority of Arctic dwellers are indigenous & their cultures & languages are being erased. This adds to the erasure when it is easy to raise awareness instead.

I have one of these, & have also trained folks how to use them. A critical factor for seniors living alone is that the first responders must know to look for the vial, which is usually kept in the door of the refrigerator. Also, family members can support by ensuring the information is kept updated.
