Wife, mother, grandmother and probably "woke". Although I still don't get why that's an insult. Christian but not a fundamentalist. Lived & worked in Brussels for 20 years, eight in NY. Rejoiner, anti-Brexit, anti Trump.

President Miller is running the country. Donald Trump is just a doddering old man following President Miller's orders.

Get "President Miller" trending and he will soon be gone just like when President Bannon started trending in 2017.

Reform-Run Council Set To Put Taxes Up After Musk-Style Plan To Slash Spending Fails "That's what they're doing in local government and it's what they'd do to Britain."

Labour MP Polly Billington: "Now we know what putting Reform in charge means: huge promises about savings, then failing to find any. Thatโ€™s what theyโ€™re doing in local government and itโ€™s what theyโ€™d do to Britain.โ€

The original series was much, much better. This "remake" is poorly cast, maudlin and over-sentimental. No housekeeper would have behaved like that in that era.
The original Mrs. Hall with Siegfried Farnon were outstanding.

So Badenoch announces that the Tories will open ICE centres & Labour tell us they will introduce legislation to prevent repeated protests in the same location (viz. outside an ICE centre)
How do you protest about a fixed geographical building when your required to hold your demo elsewhere

We flounced out of the EU on the say-so of politicians who lied to us. And what a total shitshow thatโ€™s turned out to be. The polar opposite of what they promised. Now the call to flounce out of the ECHR. By the same people. Telling the same lies. Has the country been kicked in the head by a horse?

Starmer on the โ€œFarage boatsโ€, Rachel Reeves on the economic benefits of youth mobilityโ€ฆ

Are the Labour leadership starting to poke their heads out of their shells and dare to see a pro-EU pathway as a route both to fixing our woes and also attacking Farageโ€™s Achillesโ€™ heel?

Letโ€™s hope so.

The government says those wishing to be granted permanent settlement status will have to learn English to a high standard, have a clean criminal record, and volunteer in their community.

I propose that those criteria should apply to anyone who wants to wave the British or English flag in public.

Yet it's a potentially fruitful line of argument.
Many of the UK's current problems stem from something most of us would prefer not to dwell on - Brexit. Depressed investment, low productivity, stagnant economic growth and living standards, the strain on the public finances and thus public services, food prices, the "Boriswave" of more than 2 million (legal) immigrants, increased red tape and border hassles for businesses, farmers and travellers... all can be traced back, to a greater or lesser extent, to 2016 and the EU Referendum. And who, as he reminds us again now, spent 30 years of his life campaigning for Britain to leave the EU? Farage.
It is he, Farage, who 'broke Britain' with Brexit and is now capitalising on the vast damage he caused

โ€œFarage โ€œbroke Britain" with Brexit and is now, outrageously, capitalising on the vast damage he causedโ€

Article argues thereโ€™s no need to mention Reformโ€™s racism as the Brexit shitshow is failure enough.
But that had its roots in racism too. So letโ€™s do both.

Nigel Farage's attendance record as an MEP was 748 out of 751, yet he turned up to vote AGAINST plans to tackle Russian disinformation. Now one of his MEPs has admitted taking bribes to spread Russian propaganda. Why is this not all over the media?
